Got it as a gift for my daughter who's taking flying lessons. She loves it, daddy does, too! It's also something she carries in the car and when we hike. Feels perfect and can do the job, bright flash light!

If flight outfitters would put some homeland into this thing it could be an amazing knife. So many awesome features that are just so cheaply built with just the poorest of quality.Didn’t even have to find the china etch before I knew. It’s over sized, the light turns on it self from moving around while clipped into pocket, it’s heavy and just an akward multi tool that wanted to be really cool, but never made it to actually becoming cool.The lock on the knife blade is not an exact fit either so the blade sometimes gets so stuck it requires another piece of metal to force back over to the unlock position.Don’t get me wrong, could it save a life after ditching a plane in the woods? Of course it could. Want for a flight bag? Ok, just don’t use often, it might break.And by might I mean it will it just hasn’t yet. Only other person I met that had one said his was junk too. Ferel rod fell out, battery died from light going on in pocket too.

Got to say I hope I never have to use it but I keep this knife with me every time I fly. Great design, very sturdy, and the blade is nice and easy to open. The flashlight is extremely bright.

I purchased this knife a few months back and recently saw another version of it that had a bottle opener on the spine of the blade. The price was half of this one so I figured it was worth it. Come to find out the newer knife was much less quality. It came without a sheath which is part of the reason it's cheaper but also the light did not work and it rattled around in the housing. The belt/cord/wire cutter was much larger and sat flush instead of recessed which I did not care for. The newer one also had a combination ferro/sharpening rod. The side of the rod that was designated as the sharpening side just had a thin metal plate with some silvery "dust" on it. It all scraped off within a minute and did not sharpen the blade at all so now it's just a ferro rod with a useless metal plate stuck on half of it . The blade with the bottle opener on the spine was actually just fine and I may end up swapping it onto my Flight Outfitters handle.TL;DR: Buy this knife, not the cheaper versions.

clearly a quality product. great engineering, very functional, appears to be very strong, keep on airplane as part of survival pack, also makes great gift for a pilot.
