These add great flavor to smoking but are on the higher cost side given the volume
These add great flavors to smoked meats. I got these to try some different woods and see how the flavor changes compared to mesquite, pecan and some of the things I typically use. The bourbon was delicious, as was the Maple. The oak I felt didn't do much as far as changing the flavor to a noticeable taste beyond just being smoked like the other woods did. It was interesting to try, but volume/dollar it was kind of pricey compared to local places that sell smoker supplies.

Works great in "The Smoking Gun"
I tried the Oak flavor on a glass of whiskey. I like a lot of smoky flavor, so I put the whiskey in a shaker and shook it up with the smoke. The chips lit very easily and the smoke flavor was really good. For smoking whiskey, the amount provided has to be a multiple-lifetime supply. Seriously, these are good sized tubs and a tiny pinch is all that is needed. It's weird saying that "too much" is a con, but smaller tubs would be easier to store.

Perfect for Smoking Guns
As others have mentioned, these chips are not meant for backyard hot smokers. They're for small stovetop smokers, or, as I'm using it for, a small handheld smoking gun that blows cold smoke through a hose for cocktails and other flavoring purposes. The bourbon soaked oak is a bit strong, and leaves an odd aftertaste, at least when making smoked cocktails. But both the regular oak and the maple give a nice, mellow real smoke flavor. I've made a dozen smoked manhattans and old fashioneds, and also smoked some whitefish for cullen skink, a Scottish fish chowder. The chips burn well in my little smoking gun and output plenty of smoke for what I need. And since I only use 1/2 tsp at a time, the three pack should last me about forever. Though I do want to pick up some other flavors to experiment with.

These are good - but for a smoking gun / infuser only
There seems to be confusion on the usage of these - they are not for outside grills or smokers to cook meat. Instead they are for small smoker guns / infuser, which allows you to add smoke to cocktails or meats already cooked. Because of that they are extremely small, the canister in a smoker gun is less than 1 inch round so they need to be small to fit. If you need chips to smoke food on you will need to find the larger ones, however if you need them for an infuser these work great. They give out a very good amount of smoke, I have not however used all flavors yet so can't say how each flavor is though.

did not recieve what was advertised
I was supposed to receive a tub of Oak, a tub of bourbon, and a tub of maple wood chips. I received two oak and one maple. Further these are not wood chips. They are coarse sawdust. The containers were smaller than pint size. You can buy smoker wood chips here on Amazon that are actual chips( 1/2-1" shaved chips)
