Plenty of power and reliability.
Installed this on an older Ditchwitch 24" model. Basically dropped right in, got lucky and the shaft was exactly the right size, and it runs fantastic. I have yet to wire up the key start, but it starts the first time, every time. Sips gas. An excellent replacement for the worn out honda original.

Buy and you'll be satisfied
This engine is great especially for the price point. I have it paired with a pressure washer pump 3600psi 4.8 gpm, and it has plenty of torque! Pump calls for 13 HP, I chose 16 to accommodate for name brand, and it does great. Only thing is the oil safty switch can be a hassle, I unplugged mine !

Great value for the price.
Bought this to re-power a log splitter. Changed from a vertical shaft 6.5 HP Briggs. Other than the expected mods to make it fit, this engine is faster, more powerful and starts on the first pull. Very pleased. This is the second Duromax engine I have, the other is on a generator. Very pleased with that as well.

So far so good, but…
Design of location of exhaust port SUCKED! I needed this engine for a leaf vac and the muffler location prevented the turbine shroud and turbine from being mounted. I had to rig it with an exhaust elbow and a different muffler altogether, which I was able to get here at Amazon. But it added delays expenses unplanned for. Also, the added labor cutting the new muffler pipe to fit increased my time away from actually doing the lawn care! But, in the end the thing worked. The engine seems to do the job, and in fact has a greater RPM than the original, which means greater suction and leaf/grass/detritus removal.Had the muffler been originally mounted in a better location, saving me a lot of work and delay (ordering and waiting on more parts) I would have given it five stars.Still, it was cheaper than an engine from the lawn-vac people @$900. That’s why I didn’t give it THREE stars.

Happy with it, check for damage immediately when you receive it
The pull handle was smashed in pretty good when I got it, there was no damage to the box either. But it did still work, I bought this for a golf cart and it won't be seen so I wasn't worried much about looks, I threw some oil and gas in it, fired on second pull, not as loud as I expected either! I'll update after I get some hours on it and pulling around 4 people, it will be tested pretty good

Great replacement for a 1995 Tecumseh engine on a chipper-shredder.
I had a chipper-shredder from 1995 with a Tecumseh 5 HP engine on it and the engine was frozen. I unbolted the old engine and looked around for a suitable replacement. I considered a Honda engine but it was too expensive for my limited chipping needs. So I bought a Duromax engine. Before I mounted it on the chipper I ran it a bit to break it in. I filled it with gas and oil and it started immediately and easily. So far, this engine starts on the first pull every time. To break it in, I ran the engine for 1 hour at various speeds and then changed the oil. I could see silvery metal material in the oil, as expected, as the piston and cylinder did a break-in. I might not have seen this with a precision Honda engine, but maybe even so. I ran the engine again for 1 hour and when I drained the oil the second time, it was looking pretty good. I refilled the oil (so that's round 3) and attached the engine to my chipper. That required some metalwork since the bolt pattern was not identical to my old Tecumseh but a hour with a grinder did the trick. I've run this chipper for about 6 hours since then and it works better than ever. The engine is reasonably quiet (chipping is very loud) and has started easily every time. At 10 hours, I will change the oil 1 more time and then I assume to get a few years out of this rig. Overall, a good deal. A new 7HP chipper might cost $800-1000 so this is a cost-effective solution and more eco-friendly.

Do not recommend, Zero customer service/don’t trust warranty
The media could not be loaded. I bought the XP35HPE engine for my stump grinder hoping it would be a good replacement with some extra horsepower. I had my mechanic install it and when he went to turn the engine over for the first time it made a grinding noise and locked up. Upon further inspection behind the front cover he found chunks below the flywheel, he discovered some of the magnets on the charging system had broken off and damaged some of the copper windings, for reasons unknown, but regardless should not have been an issue out of the box with a new engine. I reached out to the manufacturer to seek warranty, called twice within a few days, could not get ahold of a representative either time and left a message both times with no call back, reached out through email and no reply. After my mechanic cleaned out the chunks it ran and appears to still work but I have little faith in it knowing it had this issue out of the box and the company is ignoring the issue. It appears to run and work ok for now but as I said, I have little faith it will last, I’m under the impression it is cheaply made. The other thing about this engine is it is very electronically controlled, electric start and electric throttle adjustment, because of what I have experienced thus far I do not see these features lasting long in something that works outside in the elements. This stump grinder is the key element to my business and after two weeks of waiting for the engine to arrive I’m stuck with something I can’t rely on and no response from manufacturer.
