Oakcastle HIFI150 nice small compact stereo, good sound
Smaller than I thought, and lightweight, but does work well with good sound. In the space I'm using for this unit, I can't extend the aerial out, so radio reception not that good for me. The scan does pick up all main stations though. Haven't yet used my mp3 but aux in and USB should be useful. Trying to work out if I can get to use USB headphones with it, but may need to get a plug in device to do that (the Bluetooth only allows connection to stereo, not from it). Overall very pleased, a nice neat looking stereo suitable for my needs, and price was very good. Has a 3 Yr extended warranty available too and says its British made!

Good value for the money
Looks good, great value for money, great sound, and easy to set up. I really like that you can play audio cd's and mp3's or even use Bluetooth to connect your phone etc. It's basic but good. and offers more functionality than some of the other systems we looked at before buying this one. Overall we're very satisfied. Highly recommended

Good, but bare bones
I just needed a small hi-fi for the lounge and this seemed to fit the bill, especially for the price when compared to others. The main device itself is very light and I certainly wouldn’t want to drop it on a hard surface. The speakers are fine, no issues there. The display on the unit does not display much text at all - it’s a small display with huge text. It’s not the prettiest hi-fi either, but that’s just personal preference. It’s great that it has several different ways of playing audio (Bluetooth, Aux, CDs, USB, FM radio), but they’re all as basic as you could possibly get.Take the USB function for example; you have to cycle through folders one after another, and the display simply states the number of the folder based on its location on the USB - no folder text. As such, if you had 100 albums on a USB stick, each in a separate folder, you’d have to cycle slowly through each folder to find the one you’re after, then remember the folder number for the future if you wanted to find it again. However, given that the device has several connection methods, there are certainly other methods you could try to get around something like this (e.g. a small Bluetooth MP3 player connected via bluethooth), and I think that’s is this device’s saving grace. There are other, more expensive systems from other brands which lack some of the connections available (some don’t even have a 3.5mm headphone port), and while you might be paying more for a better experience, if you’re willing to put up with some rough edges then this device is fine in comparison for the price.
