Meepo V3 versus Meepo Mini – I own both
• Long versus Short - There is more to it with an eSkate. Most people are very likely to have a preference already but hear me out on this… Everything changes with sustained speeds over 20 mph. It gets downright sketchy pushing 30 mph. One must crank the trucks down incredibly tight, or else you will get a death wobble. The severe uncontrollable side-to-side motion at high speed is always going to happen unless (as instructed in huge font on the box) you tighten the trucks to match your weight and riding style.+1 for the Mini - You can turn the board by lifting the front wheels off the ground! With trucks cranked tight, you have now limited your ability to weight shift to turn. It effectively increases the board’s turning radius, which is a bit problematic when trying to make tight corners on sidewalks and such. The longboard V3 does not have a tail that extends past the rear truck. That means you can’t tip the front trucks off of the ground and point the nose in a different direction as one would typically do on a shortboard skateboard.+1 for the longboard V3 – The longer wheelbase on the V3 makes going fast so much more stable compared to the Mini. The V3 is far less twitchy and less prone to getting caught up on rocks and bad pavement at speed. The roominess that comes with length also makes carving the V3 so much easier. They are really long carves because the trucks are cranked down so much, but it’s seriously fun ripping back and forth going 25mph. It feels more stable changing direction at speed to avoid obstacles. It’s just the tight turning that’s difficult on the V3.• Battery life over distance. – I’ve done 10 mile rides on flat surfaces and still had charge left. I also noticed that the battery charges very quickly. I rode 3.5 miles just now to go get lunch, came back, plugged it in, and 14 minutes later, it’s at 100% again.• Build quality – Heavy and well built. This isn’t built like a toy. It’s also quite heavy, but there isn’t so much that can be done about that. You don’t notice the weight when you are riding it around.• The hand controller – I like the display, and it’s very intuitive. Sturdy as well as it’s been dropped a few times. KNOW THIS! - - > It’s a throttle, and it only moves about an inch forward and back (for braking). That means there is between zero and 28mph worth of thrust in that inch. DO NOT whisky throttle the thing, especially in the beginning. Move the throttle as slowly as you possibly can until you get the hang of it. This is for all eSkates, not just Meepo. Even experienced skateboarders will end up on their butt the first time unless you tell them to ease into it.• The Box – The box itself is worthy. I’ve kept it and usually store my board in it. It has a handy handle. I suppose if the cardboard or something wears out, I will use the dimensions and create a more permanent box since the foam insert that cradles the board in the box is super sweet. That foam will last forever, and if you want to travel with your board, you best hold onto it.• The tools – The tools are good, the T-tool is especially nice, but the sockets on it aren’t deep enough. Heavy people, like 200+, will need to crank the trucks down tighter than the T-tool will allow before it bottoms out. You can strip the nuts if you aren’t careful. You won’t be doing this very often, so it’s not a big deal, and it’s worth noting that the truck adjustment nut on the front is a different size than the adjustment nut on the back truck.• Remote battery charging cable – It comes with a cable that may not be obvious what it’s for. This cable is used when the battery is removed (or you have a spare). This adaptor allows you to plug the battery directly into the charger when the battery is not installed on the board.• The charger – Is like any other charger you have ever used. It’s about the same size and length as a typical laptop charger. It’s also very effective at charging batteries quickly. You will notice that it gets a little hot so keep that in mind. Best to keep it well exposed to the open air when charging.• Overall – Buying one of each size has been a terrific experience. I am keeping both. These boards are a hoot, and it’s even more fun when you bring a friend.

It was great...
Update: TLDR I bought the board, lasted 2 months and then the ESC stopped working and I contacted warranty service on the board. Amazon said if the company did not follow through on the warranty that they would step in. I got a response back from Meepo warranty where they were not able to repair it. They have a shortage on ESCs and would not be able to get me a new one for another month which is completely unacceptable. Then amazon stepped in and told me they would refund me the money, which they refunded about 80% but is still unacceptable. Both Amazon and Meepo acknowledge that the item is defective and I should not have received it in the first place, amazon now took my board, I'm short $100, can't afford a new one, and I can't even take advantage of the warranty. Even if it would have taken a month, I would at least have a functioning board. I'm just frustrated at this point.Update 2: I am on my third board at this point, I realized that the quality control on these boards is unbelievably bad. Two of the boards had major issues, the first part of my review still stands, warranty service is a pain and the board completely died on me. The second one I had was vibrating really badly. It felt like I had a flat tire and the battery monitor wasn't working or something because the remote would tell me I was at 25% when the inboard battery indicator said I had 60. The third one now is actually working properly. It still vibrates but within a reasonable amount, the battery monitor is working fine, and no problem with the ESC yet but well see.I'm gonna preface this with the fact that I loved this board so so much. I used it for 2 months and It was one of the best purchases I've probably made in my life. It was so fun, I basically stopped using my car to go anywhere. (Which isn't saying much but still) I would ride it just to ride it some days. It was so fun. 12/10 for enjoyability. I've heard some negatives. For example, the hub motors have a thin layer of polyurethane so if it is ridden on rough roads consistently the urethane will get chewed up and crack. I thought it wouldn't be an issue and I was okay with paying $40 every 6 months for maintenance. Here's where my major issue comes in. For me, if I'm spending $500+ on something I would expect it to last. I've watched some YouTube videos where people have put 10s of thousands of miles on the Meepo v3 and they are still running. Mine lasted me 2 months of light use and now it won't turn back on. I would use it to get around my area, at most 2.5 miles at a given time. The board does have a warranty on it, but as one can imagine, I don't have a lot of confidence that it won't die again. I'm waiting on a response from Meepo regarding what they will so my final review may be subject to change in the coming days.|
