Worth the cost and install work for old draft windows in winter
These make a huge difference if you have older drafty single pain wooden windows and live where it gets cold in the winter. Well worth it for the reduction in your heating bill and strain on your furnace.Installation takes a bit of time but you'll get the hang of it. All you need is a pair of scissors and a hair dryer. They become almost invisible once stretch/shrunk with the hair dryer. You may have issues if you have a cat that's not declawed as they can slice this thin plastic easily.

7° warmer after putting up insulation
I have multiple rooms with window AC units. Very hard to find covers to fit some of them. I tried ordering two different sets and was only able to find a cover that fit one. I noticed that that really helped keep the heat in the room. We do have central heat and air. One of the rooms, where I couldn't find a cover for the AC unit, was a lot colder than the main part of the house. After I put the insulation on both windows in the room an hour later I checked the temperature at the window AC unit I had a thermometer and I had another thermometer inside the room. There was a 7° difference. I checked and the temperature in that room was around the same as the main part of the house. I highly recommend as a alternative to removing your window AC unit or finding a cover for it. Not too difficult to install. I did a little different than the directions. I put all the tape up first and cut the plastic before attaching it at the top and then I just pulled it out and slowly moved it down to the bottom of the window. Even if it's not exactly even as long as it's sealed on all sides once you use the blow dryer it should snug up a bit and be fine. I'm sure it's going to help the electric bill and it will be keeping the room warmer, which is great! Please excuse the dirty blinds and window area in general. We are a dog rescue and have 21 dogs in house. I get a little bit behind and cleaning and just wanted to hurry up and put the insulation up to keep them warm as it's going to be getting really cold over the next few days.

Great film... just be certain to have some thicker clear double-sided tape on hand
Does the job! Film quality is great. It was a great fit and gave me a lot of extra to cut away. Would be nice if the tape was as good as the True Value Hardware brand, but it works. Part of the problem I had with the tape could be because it was my first time installing this and it was a big window. The True Value Hardware brand was easier to pull the plastic part off the double-sided tape. Both brands have really thin double-sided tape.No matter which brand you get. Get some thick clear double-sided tape to reinforce corners -- I had some on hand and it saved me. Also, with all of these use the hair dryer on high about 2 inches from the plastic constantly moving the hair dryer. It takes a REALLY long time to get all the plastic to tighten on a large window. I thought I finished the night I installed it, but the next day I had to come back and tighten it up to get rid of all the tell tale wrinkles from where the plastic is not fully shrunk... I probably spent about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes tightening the plastic fully on a window 82" x 48"... but it looks FANTASTIC now. Looking through it you cannot tell it has the plastic on it from either side of the window.

Worth the price!
I recently moved to a new apartment, 2nd floor of a 2 family house. There are several crawl spaces that have little to no insulation due to it being an older house. The owner had them lined with insulation but during those extremely cold days, you can feel a draft coming in.I tried a few different options, including weatherproof insulation tape before coming across this. I was a little skeptical seeing how I was planning on using it for more than my windows but once I followed the quick video and got an idea how it works I was confident about the product and the quality of the materials you get. After seeing how the product worked, simply measure and give yourself some room to work as well. The height on the door was my concern but I can easily seeing this cover a window size of 5 feet. After trimming off the excess, run a hairdryer on high around the edges where the tape and plastic meet being careful as you go. The size and look aren't a bother. The tape sticks very well and after 24 hours I can say this product works great.

Slow, Frustrating to Use - EXPECT 1 HOUR PER WINDOW. SERIOUSLY.
This stuff is okay I guess. Decent value, nothing special. It is not easy or quick to install AT ALL. Even after getting used to installing it, it took about 1 hour per window start to finish. This might be the best option us northerners have, but that doesn't make it a good option. The windows it did remain stuck to did fairly well at my house, certainly helped lower our heat bill significantly over the long Minnesota winter. Once installed, it can look okay, but the problem is if you mess up even a little bit it ends up looking really ugly. The pictures I attached are where it peeled off the windows within 40 days of installing. If there's a significant draft, it ends up blowing right off the double sided tape. This is best for large plastic or sealed wood window frames. If you have new windows in an old house, or weirdly shaped good luck!
