Effective and expedient traps
These are great traps and very effective providing that you use them correctly. I had a small mouse infestation which transpired was being encouraged by an unknown food source, namely sweet and frube yoghurt wrappers (and also a discarded chicken stock-cube . . . I know, don't ask!)that my 7 year old son had nicked and secreted the evidence down the back of 3 sofas.Anyhow, it was clear that the mice had some sort of access under the kitchen units so I set one trap under the sink and one under the drawers. I used some Cadbury's wholenut chocolate as bait and about 9pm we took the first mouse in a good clean kill. The traps are easy to set by simply pressing the lever arm back until it clicks. The traps are very sensitive - I triggered on in a test with a sheet of A4 which was suitably punched by the array of teeth on the arm. I was therefore surprised the following morning to fins that both traps were minus the bait and un-triggered.On reflection, the reason for this was that the bait I placed in the traps was too large and I underestimated the ability of the mice. (They do recommend that peanut butter is used, but we have a severe allergy to peanut in the house, so not an option)You need to ensure that the bait does not protrude above the rim of the bait-dish in the trap, so again having regrouped, we took mouse number two around the same time the following night. That would appear to be the extent of the problem, so I am pleased that we sorted it in 48 hours. This is not one for the tree-huggers, but if you want a fast, effective and humane trap that executes a swift, clean kill, I recommend this one.My final tip would be: Bait the trap first, then set it!!!

Excellent traps
Worked immediately , baited with chocolate spread. Quick and effective and easy to empty. Hopefully won’t get too much use now that the explorers in our shed have been dispatched.

Brilliant so long as you don't mind sad eyes looking at you!
Bought a mixture of mouse traps after having to throw away a lot of beloved items ruined by mouse chewing, droppings and urine.Bait - stale unsalted cashew nuts.In just one day I killed three mice with one of these traps, each within an hour of setting/resetting.My experience just buy this "Procter Pest-Stop Sure-set Plastic Mousetrap Twinpack" as the results are excellent. Not only that but easy to set, no squashed fingers, and like a bulldog clip you just squeeze the clips together and the dead mouse falls out without you having to handle it.I also bought a Multi-Catch Metal Mouse Trap by Procter Bros Ltd - this caught one mouse. Warning - we hoped to catch more but they used the other trap instead so after a couple of hours, we drove it to a field a few miles away but the smell of urine in the car was horrible and I can't believe one mouse can produce that many droppings. Also bought Pest-stop Snap Trap Pre-baited Mouse Trap (1 Pack) - forgot it was pre-baited and dropped some nuts on it. Mouse were able to eat the nuts without the trap going off! Not sure why as it's very sensitive when setting and quite painful!Update - bought more of these traps so I now have 5 in the shed (original problem area but no sign of mice for 4 weeks now) and 5 in the garage where I've caught a few recently. Just been to the garage and 4 dead mice! I have a serious problem as that's 10 in four days.Downside though is one wasn't dead, it had been pinned across its lower back and was moving its head and arms. I know I'm trying to kill them with the traps but it's not the same as deliberately having to kill the mouse to put it out of its misery. I'd also had trouble removing another mouse that had managed to get stuck inside the mechanism - I've a nasty feeling that this one suffered a slow painful death.Because it doesn't always get them across the back of the head, I've downgraded my rating from 5 to 4 stars but provided you aren't too squeamish, they are still the best traps I've found and excellent value for money.Added note - in hot weather check regularly and put something under the traps as I've now got two horrible stains on the shed floor from decomposing mice. Not only that but the flies had found them - if Grissam was here, he could say how long they had been dead for. I now check on a daily basis.
