The media could not be loaded. I bought this because it looked neat and could be used to demonstrate heat and energy concepts for a class I teach. At $20, I didn't expect much, but this little engine runs consistently. I have now purchased 2 of these total. In both cases, the item was very well packaged, complete, and undamaged on delivery. It even includes extra parts which was a lifesaver.There isn't any assembly required other than assembling the alcohol burner and attaching the LED to the generator. The long lead of the LED will go to the terminal with the red dot.Operation: I used 91% alcohol from the drug store as fuel and it works great. It takes 20-30 seconds to get warm enough to allow the engine to sustain itself. It is very satisfying to watch it run.On the first engine, I was using a cigar torch at first to heat the glass cylinder, instead of using the included burner. I knew this was a dumb idea but I didn't have any alcohol at that time. It quickly burned a hole through the glass cyclinder. Thankfully, an extra cylinder is included and after fixing, the engine runs fine.Overall, I am very impressed with the quality of this little engine and would recommend it to anyone with a general curiosity of working machines. If you have kids, they should be supervised. You can see the size of the flame in the video.

What a surprise when I opened this package - This was really nice and then I put it together and it ran beautifully. I don’t remember recently purchasing something that was so nice in every way. The low price does not match the high quality. Highly recommended. It seems durable. My only suggestion is that a flame snuffer of some sort should be included and a cap for the alcohol burner I made these myself for this item. Nevertheless, I had a lot of fun with this And will use it to show young people something that they would not encounter in every day life although Stirling Engines have been used for pumping water, and other applications in years gone by.

It works great out the box! Then it breaks down after a little bit as the wick on mine got completely burnt thru in about 30 mins of run time, which as it’s a rope wick it’s kind of bad. Also the heat fins (radiator) are placed directly next to the candle so if the heat fins heat up it stops working. Other than that you can replace wick with twine tied together, and use isopropyl alcohol as fuel! IT IS A GAS GUZZLER!!! But very fun and interesting.

Very high quality, great workmanship, and works out of the box. Mirror finish on the base, looks like a show piece. Came assembled, just needed the LED put in and the alcohol lamp wick put in. I highly recommend this.

For the price this is awesome! It works, seems to be well built, comes with spare parts, and is fascinating if this is your kind of thing. The best $20 I’ve spent in a long time! If you’re considering it, just buy it! You can always return it if you want.

Would have been nifty, but it broke after 48 hours, with less than an hour on the engine. The rod that connects the piston to the arm of the wheel broke. Also, the ring on the base for the alcohol lamp came off. See attached picture.

The media could not be loaded. Wow just wow. This thing is worth every penny. Being so affordable I wasn’t expecting a whole lot. Esp when other similar items are going for twice as much. It was packaged really well with plenty of bubble wrap. It arrived completely undamaged. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. I couldn’t wait to fire this thing up. And fire right up it did. I only have 70% alcohol at the moment. While it recommends 95% the 70% works well enough. I waited to two minute preheat and spun the flywheel and it took off like it should. I know I’m going to have a lot of fun watching this thing over and over and will definitely be getting more similar ones.
