of-Overflow Box (YCA OF-300)

Works well. Very similar to the Eshopps overflow, but has a lid for the back. A nice feature to keep it quiet. Need enough pump flow to keep the small bubbles from collecting in the U pipe. Pairs nicely with the Aqueon AQ2500.

Works well, received with 2 siphon tubes good outflow. Appears to be constructed wellsuggest that the tubing be a little longer to make starting the siphon a little easier

Great overflow. I have the 1600 GPH overflow. With just the one U-tube that is provided I learned that the overflow doesn't keep up with a 1600 GPH pump. I had an extra U-tube from a smaller overflow used on a smaller tank and added that to this overflow box. It kept up with the 1600 GPH flow rate flawlessly. So out of curiousity I ordered two more U-tubes and added them. With this addition the overflow is keeping up with a 2600 GPH pump. So needless to say this overflow is the real deal. Very well built as well. My only issue is the manufacturer didnt leave much room for raising and lowering the weir system inside the tank. To keep the water 1" below the frame of my tank I had to adjust the weir all the way to the very bottom of the bracket. It is so close to the bottom that it took a few tries to tighten back down because it kept coming off the bottom of the bracket.

I ordered the YCA OF-1800 which supposedly has a flow rate of 1600 gallons per hour. It is also supposed to come with two 1" U-tubes. I just received my skimmer but it only came with one U-tube so it only has an 800 gallon per hour capacity. Normally I would not have posted this review so quickly and would give the seller the benefit of the doubt but I did see that this has happened to numerous other people. Now I have to try and get another tube sent or to return this item. Not worth the hassle so beware.As an update, I wrote the above review after just receiving the item and now had a chance to unpack and inspect the skimmer box and there are even more problems with it then I thought. In every single picture the skimmer is shown with the prefilters installed and no where does it say prefilters are not included but , surprise, they are not. Also, one of the main reasons I bought this skimmer over another is because it Also comes with a lid to slow evaporation and dampen sound. The lid that was included only has an opening for one U-tube when, again, this model is supposed to accommodate two U-tubes so the lid is useless. I honestly thought I Got the wrong model sent but the model number on the package is the one I ordered. If I had an option to give a zero star rating or less I would do so. This item will definitely be returned.

Everything about the product works great except the bulkhead doesn't sit flat so it leaks... hopefully I can get a replacement or refund soon.

Standard PVC adapters (at least here in Charleston at Lowes) had thicker thread widths so I couldn't match up to the black bulkhead/adapter piece where water flows from outer overflow box down to the sump. So I replaced it with a different bulkhead from Lowes (and it wasn't easy to find since it was unorganized at Lowes).I was able to get a tight seal but only after aligning straight and applying Oatey purple primer then Oatey medium clear pvc cement then immediately screwing bottom gasket into piece before drying for reassuring no leaks (knock on wood!).I have the OF-Nano BUT I'm using it for a 30 gallon mbuna tank with a 16 gallon sump (using 12 gallons of capacity in sump). I want 10x per hour turnover since it's mbuna... not salmon swimming up a stream against 60mph current. But I wanted more than the little 1.5-2p/h that the little HOB provided.I purchased this after making my own overflow that I used for 6 months (redneck engineering... but pretty goid) when not wanting to spend so much... but in the end, it's $$$ saved should redneck engineering fail. Mine was fine until the interior box I designed slumped a little and one mbuna decided to become a Navy Seal by getting in that box and then into my U-tube which slowed "water out" which caused "water in" to slightly overflow the damn tank. Sooooo... spend the damn money. Don't risk it. I'm sure I could make a better, dependable version 2 of mine but I'm over spending the time on it.

This is amazing for the price would definitely buy from them again...I have a five hundred gallons an hr as a return pump and it works well with each other
