Makes a difficult job easier
This tool takes most of the anxiety from the difficult job of terminating CAT5 cables. The tester works in a straightforward manner to cycle the display continuity in each wire in order. I don't know if you can use the listener tool to connect to a cable that is part of an active network, but you are warned not to connect the tool to a POE injector due to the high voltage present. The wire layout order for both A and B types is printed in the crimp tool and along with the connectors that let the wire protrude out the end before crimping. This makes getting the wires in the correct order easier. I normally use the 568B wiring order and made 10 connections correctly the first time using this device.A must have for your ethernet wiring tool box.

ARRIVED PROMPTLY. appeared that my package had been opened before I received. I counted the parts and they were all there but one of the connectors (clear) was different. Other than that, the tool works pretty good. I used a separate xacto blade to get the wire stripped first. I thought the too could do that all in one but i find using the tool for that part messes with the inner wires. I like that mine came with the sticker as a reminder for the order of the colored wires. Test was handy for sure. Still dont know what the yellow tool does or how to use it. Would recommend.

as expected
We had a older version called Data Shark and ran out of connectors. That tool had no way to check connections so if the wires were not inserted perfectly it was 50/50 chance of the cable working. The pass through style is more forgiving. The only thing that we did not like about the connectors that came with it was their crimp lock down bar is a bit weak. The second plastic bar snapped off the RJ45 connector on one of the cable ends. The test modules are very helpful to confirm connections.

Good quality with a good price
Nice tool. I purchased this to run some Cat 6 for a home server setup. I didn't want something really cheap, I hate cheap tools. But at the same time I doubt I will ever need them again so I didn't want to go crazy. This was an awesome middle choice. They work great, feel quality, make perfect crimps. Pass through connectors are so much easier to work with. I like the tool has both color coded ways to build your connections with.

Worked great. First time using pass through. No issues. Recommended!

Worth the money!
The crimping tool works well as does the cable strip tool. I don’t know about the connectors they sent with. I didn’t use those. I used this tool to do a home project. Not sure how the crimping tool would hold up in daily use. The cable test tool works well also. Saved me from a lot of trouble. If I had to buy this tool again I would.

Unreliable crimping and testing
Although I'm a DIYer, I've successfully crimped my fair share of terminations, although I had never attempted to terminate burial rated cat6a 23awg. I wanted pass-through RJ45's and decided that a ratcheting crimper, fresh cutting blades, a tester and termination covers were worth a few extra $.My first two terminations on my 175' length of buried CAT6a were objectively unimpressive, which the tester confirmed by showing that the #1 wire wasn't connected from end to end. However, subsequent terminations improved in quality. I was extra careful not to nick wires, crammed the cable jacket all the way into connector to the stop point. The tester showed all 8 wires were uninterrupted end to end. After 3-4 tries on both ends with fresh connectors and freshly revealed wires, with all tester lights green but no data transmission, I called a network pro. He visually inspected my terminations and said they looked good. Still, when he used his professional line tester, it showed the first two wires failed (his tester was able to test the cable for continuity by getting an estimated length of each wire. Neat!).His tester was also able to determine which one of my terminations was good and which was bad. After cutting off the bad one, he attached a keystone termination on one end rather than an RJ45 (which resulted in me needing fewer connections down the line) and it was all good. I can only conclude that this crimper was faulty as I've never had this many failed terminations before. Or maybe it can't handle 23awg cat6a cable. fwiw my hand strength is pretty good
