Two Tricks (Hidden Empire) Paperback – February 2, 2021

I love strong FMC and Dex was absolutely amazing. The story kept me intrigued and involved and the characters were top notch. I am excited about continuing this series.

FMC is an enforcer in the LA underworld and knows how to deal with its shady side. She does not shy away from violence and death, to keep her people save and to get revenge for slights against her. The 5 leaders of a MC are similar and have sights on her; she'll be theirs (partner in both work and life) no matter what the FMC might think. This should rub her the wrong way as she claims multiple times that she will not be owned or coddled. Yet they can.. for me this detracted from her supposedly badass character. I do love Wes as he is truly her partner and their relationship fits the characters.

I really enjoyed this book! This was great and written really well. The FMC was sassy and funny with the skill to back it! The guys were adorable, I liked her growing dynamic with them. Wes is my favorite. The lengths they go to for each other was amazing to read. The little bit of mystery was just the cherry on top!

Started on audible and I was so loving it that I switched to kindle and back until I was finished. Great writing and a little funny! Congrats Ms Knight on a great book

My God I was hooked from the first chapter! I love a strong FMC. This book was awesome!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ So many stars.

I'm giving this 3.5 stars. The first half of the book was meh. It finally picked up about the last 1/4. Enough that I'm looking forward to the next book. I have only read this book so far, so I may change my mind on this review later.The basic premise without spoilers. Dax is a bad a$$ enforcer with manic pixie energy. A bunch of burly bikers want to partner up with her org to protect and grow their MC. So they kidnap her. Not really the best way to start negotiations. But this is a RH, so you know where that's going. Some shenanigans happen, and it ends on cliff.As far as this genre goes, even with the violence, this book felt pretty light. A lot of the decisions the MC leaders made were odd. And for as bad a$$ as Dax is, she made some questionable choices too. They felt a lot more intentional by the end, though. The twist was predictable. It was pretty clear from the start where this was going. The path the book took almost felt like it was checking off the boxes of dark RH romance tropes. It feels like inexperienced.That said, it was still entertaining. There's violence and death, but it didn't feel too dark. The spice was decent, and the characters were interesting enough. The cliffhanger was expected. I'm looking forward to the next book.

I have a single, solitary, complaint in this epic adventure of a romance novel and it really is that no one sawthe reveal sooner. Honestly😅Otherwise, I loved this book. Literally inhaled it. I have already downloaded book two.I love Dax. Like, I thought I had read baddie female characters before but honestly she takes the whole cake. Her general enforcer behavior is so incredibly provoking and i just got so hyped every single scene😅I adore the men. Especially Void, Sprocket, and Wes. Obviously I love Eagle, Cognac, and Picasso too but good lord what I would let men like Void and Sprocket do to me🥵I am so ready for the war to get underway. Kimber is going to see hell to pay as will the MC and Cartel that think they can disturb what Dax so painstakingly protects.

Very funny, sappy ending and was wanting more romance but very good work and I loved the way Dax is so strong
