works and fits
Fits into my 1 1/2" laundry stack, allowing existing washer to drain and my newly added water softener to share that same pipe. Works and fits nicely.

We painted the Inlet Port along with the other pvc piping pieces. Looks great and works well.
I like how it will fit two different size piping. Works well for the water softener.

Peace of mind
I used this air gap to drain my water softener into the washing machine stand pipe. Fit my application perfectly and now I don't need to worry about my washing machine water backsiphoning into my softener.

Exactly as described. Fit perfectly.

Not great
Returned. Not worth $25. Same function can be achieved with $5 in parts at any hardware store.

Four Stars
The old one gave up after 20 years and this replacement was an exact fit.

Bad design
I researched this part almost obsessively when I was planning out my water softener installation. It does not perform as the video shows it online, I promise you that. The issue is, as another reviewer noted, that water does slop out of the "little windows" when the softener puts out it's max flow during a recharge, which is far less than what this part claims to be rated at. For twenty something dollars on a part made of plastic, I expect it to be leak free. Not something you want in a finished space. I think the Mr. Drain forces the water to converge too sharply just below the windows and when the water gets bottlenecked, guess where it goes. Bummer. If anyone has a suggestion of a part that doesn't leak, please let me know.

Works sort of
Works just ok, water slops out of the air gap and gets all over the wall, and anything around it, this device does not help to maintain a controlled water flow, it looks good on line, but Its so sloppy and uncontrolled I could not use it. I am better off drilling a hole in a 2 x4 mounting it on the wall and putting the hose threw the 2x4 at an 1" 1/2" inches above the drain.
