This informative and beautifully designed,volume provides step-by-step timelines of major battles from Kadesh (1285 BCE) to The Iraq War (2003).The maps' graphics are skillfully constructed to show each battle's time line, types of units (infantry, cavalry, bowmen, artillery, etc.), unit/troop movements, landscapes, etc..Each section also provides the larger contexts for the battles, the types of weapons used, command structures, etc..Although this volume can't cover every major battle, it does a great job of covering representative battles from different eras.Whether you are looking for info on a specific battle, or want to read it in whole to gain a perspective on the evolution of warfare, this book is a gem.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this for my husband for Father’s Day and we both loved it so much that we ordered the entire series for both of our dads for Father’s Day. It’s a beautiful hard cover with high quality thick glossy pages. The content and details in the book is incredible. Definitely a table top talking piece. So happy we found these!

The book had some damage on the spine. The tear along the spine also gets bigger as you open and close the cover. Otherwise book and inside pages in good condition.

I love the entire series of these beautiful hard cover books. Bought them for my grandson for Christmas. He is extremely happy with them all. Well made and written book with tons of facts and information bringing him a wealth of knowledge

This is a book that can be read by adults and children or teenagers together to comment both history and strategy lessons, using war and military formations pictures that do a great pictorial job of explaining not only the battles and how they were fought and won, plus how could they have been lost, but also the historical context. The book does this in a succinct and appealing way.

A must have to your collection. Very detailed, incredible illustrations, and in a hard cover. Really love it.
