It’s sharp
This Is a beautiful little edc knife.its held a nice nice edge. The grip is a little short for big hands but it got a little thickness to so easy to grab. My 6 year old calls it my baby lol, but it really isn’t just smaller grip. It will handle business if it needs to. The only thing I don’t like is sheath that came with it. It’s cheaply made . Looking for better one lol

Old Timer indeed.
I purchased this knife in the 70s when it was called a Sharp Finger. It skinned many animals and was easy to hone. However, careful with the sheath. Having been bloodied, I used saddle soap and neatsfoot oil on it resulting in a loose bag instead of a sheath. It then went into my tackle box which was lost at sea, hence the replacement.Great value. Holds its edge, but careful with the sheath.

good Knife
It is a nice small Knife, exactly what is needed for skinning, good grip and a better sheaf then i had hoped for, i used it to skin a cow, and was very pleasedCarl

Great knife
It's definitely made a bit different and doesn't keep an edge as long if you are consistently using it but it's easy to get back and I have skinned thousands of deers with this knife as a deer processor.

Cheap skinner gets the job done: A formidable piercer but not enough mass to be a super slicer
The Old Timer 152OT Sharpfinger 7.1" fixed blade knife is my go-to and most used EDC. I have many knives, but this is my consistent pick bc I dont generally need a beefy blade for everyday tasks, but I more often than not need something that can pierce or make small, controlled cuts. The 3.3” upswept blade has an elongated trailing point which creates an unreal level of pin-point precision. The steel tapers to an almost hair thin point… be careful sheathing this bad boy lest you snag leather with that needle tip.Love this little precision piercer/slicer. I believe it is designed to be a skinner, but some might even find it meaty for such a task. The 3.2mm thick stock gives the blade more utility for other challenging problems however. It is a wonderful little piercing tool and that is its strongest selling point I think. Just be careful not to recklessly stab into things or you might lose that piercing tip.The 3.5” handle is comfortable, some sort of synthetic (delrin?) akin to plastic but certainly durable. Brass pins are a nice touch. Sawtooth cut goes a long way and not only provides a more secure grip than something like bone, it feels pretty dang good in the hand too. It’s lightweight to boot, no doubt bc it's a synthetic.Contoured leather button snap sheath is decent: leather is 2.2mm thick enough and honestly it is half the reason I carry this knife so frequently. Small enough to consistently wear and not large enough to draw much attention. The curved trailing point even looks cool sheathed too.Steel is not uber fancy (7cr17Mov) but it gets the job done and sharpens with ease. The factory edge was rather dull however so be sure to sharpen and hone upon receiving. After a few minutes with a 3k/10k grit ruby & agate whetstone I was able to get this little devil sharp enough to pull through paper like a lightsaber… no resistance… like butter. We’ll see if this 7cr17mov can hold an edge… my Old Timer PHW Pro Hunter 8” 7cr17mov blade holds an edge worse than any other knife I own, but that stock is cut much thicker. Even though they are cut from the same quality steel, I do suspect this Sharpfinger to hold a better edge bc of the slimmer profile alone… I’ve already been able to get it dramatically sharper than the PHW… Sometimes slimmer wins.I carry this blade every day bc if I had to (e.g. entering federal property) I could easily throw it away and replace it. As far as I can tell this is a classic model and for only $15 it is the cheapest blade in my collection… This is an infinitely replaceable tool worth every penny. You’d pay more elsewhere for the sheath alone…

Good Knife, Good Sheath, Would Buy Again
Quick Summary: It's an "everyday task" knife that can handle delicate slicing tasks without being clumsy or oversized.More Detailed Observations and Opinions:The little Sharpfinger has really impressed me, especially considering the price. As much as I wish it were still made in the USA, even at a higher price, the current Sharpfinger is definitely worth consideration.Mine arrived in a very presentable "Oldtimer" box marked "Taylor Brands LLC" which, from what I understand, purchased the Schrade and Sharpfinger trademarks after the original company went defunct in the 2000s, and moved production to China.Steel is 7Cr17 (similar to 440A by many accounts) in a full-tang modified skinner style with a satin finish. Handle scales are of a hard plastic resin. Sheath is leather, single stitched, with a snap closure and, to my delight, is perfectly serviceable.Out of the box impressions:- Watch them fingers! It easily shaved arm hair and sliced thin paper cleanly.- It's a handy size.- It looks very... good... for such an inexpensive knife. She's a beaut, actually.- The included leather(!) belt sheath is completely functional and should hold up well with appropriate care.- The grip was broader than I expected at 3/4" wide. The more I use this knife, the more I realize a few things:- It cuts a lot better than most of its size class, due to the blade's upsweep.- The blade material is decent, but I would love to see the manufacturer improve on this. I can't quite get it "astonishingly sharp" and it holds a working edge just long enough to get my nod of approval.- It's low-key for a fixed blade. It looks like something grandpa may have passed down and is unlikely to get you hassled by the authorities as long as you mind your own business*.- The upswept tip gives very good point control for detailed tasks and is too fragile even occasional prying tasks.- If you're into customizing, a few fileworked notches would go a long way to add traction on the thumb-rest.- The handle is not awe-inspiring, but it is a classic model from before high-traction polymers and ergonomic everything. I can live with it.- The handle material doesn't provide much traction when wet, and making use of the included lanyard hole aids in retention.- While this knife is not designed to be a weapon, it requires safe handling and respect. This is a very sharp, very pointy tool that could send someone to the hospital in a hurry. Definitely keep this knife sheathed and out of reach if you have small children, pets, or that lovable but none-too-bright friend around. The Sharpfinger strikes me as useful for the following types of applications:Snack prep, Mess kit, Fishing, Small Game, Large Game (caping), Lawn Chores, Picnics, Gardening, Foraging, Whittling, Light Tinkering, etc.I have been collecting and carrying knives for 20 years. I am happy with this purchase and intend to buy more of these as gifts. This is a very strong value when considering the blade's above-average edge retention, slicing geometry, classic design, presentable box, and useable leather sheath.I purchased this knife for myself and am not being compensated.I really hope they introduce this style in a 1095 carbon steel version!* Always check local laws before carrying or traveling with a knife. Knife laws can vary from city to city and violations often carry harsh penalties including jail time.
