PFC 135-100-044-5SF Plastic Carrying Case, 13 1/2" x 10" x 4 3/8", Black (2-(Pack))

Having purchased a couple of the Bosch 12v bare tools, I was looking for cases to protect them for trips away from the shop, where they have bench drawers. After some research I deemed the Bosch L-Boxx line as too costly for my budget (I already have a Bosch soft pack I could use in a pinch). However, one of the reviews on Amazon referred to this item PFC 135-100-044-5SF Plastic Carrying Case, 13 1/2" x 10" x 4 3/8", Black as an almost perfect fit for the 102 insert. Listed on Amazon new for $25, I low-balled and jumped on a Used-Like New offering for $15 and change. I received it today and am pleased enough with the quality and value that I wanted to go ahead and review it. The insert is about 2" narrower and 3" shorter (front-to-back) than the inside box dimensions. I resolved this by Gorilla gluing the bottom and two edges to the inside of the box, filling a slim gap with some small foam inserts I'd saved back from something. This left only a gap at the rear of the insert, wide enough for a torpedo level or something similar in size. Obviously I cannot yet attest to the long-term durability (the latches seem a little iffy) but with care should last for a good long time. I'm satisfied that this box is a satisfactory substitute for the L-Boxx equivalent at about 1/3 the price.Bonus: there are several different thicknesses of foam included, not counting the egg-crate piece affixed to the box lid; inserts for the L-Boxx series cost extra, so....UPDATE: ordered a second one from Amazon's "Warehouse Deals", price was a little higher ($18.95) but still listed as like new. When I received it I was very displeased to see that the foam liner in the lid had been forcibly torn off, leaving an ugly glue line as well as a shark-bite tear in the foam piece. This in spite of the label "..Inspected and Repackaged"! I initiated an immediate return which, as usual, was easy. C'mon, Amazon, how about some quality control...prospective buyers of used items, caveat emptor!!I'll now order the new item instead, pay a little more, and count this as a learning experience.

I was excited to find out this box fits the Bosch Exact-Fit L-BOXX Tool Insert Trays almost perfectly! This case comes with foam, too. I don't think this LBOXX comes with foam. I'm attaching a shot of the Bosch Bare-Tool PS60BN 12-Volt Max Lithium-Ion Pocket Reciprocating Saw with Exact-Fit L-BOXX Tool Insert Tray sitting in this cheaper case, as an example.

Bought the case for my BMW cam timing tool works great keep pieces from rattling around and being dented. Keeps the tool separate from being mixed in with other hand tools. Would highly recommend.
