Primer of Biostatistics, Seventh Edition (Primer of Biostatistics (Glantz)(Paperback))

The explanations in this book are really clear, and the examples definitely help illustrate difficult concepts. My only complaint is that this book has SO MANY TYPOS (including in some of the formulas, which can lead to a lot of confusion!!) I would definitely recommend reading this book for a solid biostatistics introduction, but if anything looks fishy, check the formula somewhere else.... and don't get too frustrated if the practice problems and answers don't match up, because there are often typos in one or the other or both.

The content is good but it is unacceptable the amount of typos and mistakes it has. A $60 book with Soo many editions should have these corrected. I was wondering why so many professors keep requiring this book but it seems there are no good alternatives.

I like the detail and easy reading

The book does have good info, but many of the problems and examples have errors which can be confusing to students.

Great book to get if you are taking a BioStatistics course. Explains things very well for the beginner new to statistics. A definate must.

Solid introduction to biological statistics. Very useful.

There were not many examples or answers in the book and with the kindle edition a lot of the tables were wrong or missing. I still have to take the book out of the library to use for my college course.

The Primerof Bioststistics has two components;easy to use statistical tests in a CD ROM and an excellent text book companion. All essential aspects of statistics (parametric and non-parametric) are simplified and explained with appropriate examples. A great product for anyone involved with research in medicine/allied health sciences. Particularly useful for medical residents and for quick data analysis, even when research is in progress.
