I tried about 100 lightning adapters (OK like 4), and none of them had the mic work on my gaming headset, with the USB and single TRRS 3.5mm plug. I prefer the gaming headset for comfort and noise canceling.While skeptical, this headline said works with Iphone 12 with mic........AND IT DOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Not sure on longevity, but for now 5 stars as sound is good and mic works. Will report back if issues.Note that when iphone12 asked what type of device, I selected other, not headphone. Not sure if that matters, but "other" works.

I had to change my Iphone SE for an Iphone 8. My problem was that the Iphone 8 eliminated the jack port. Therefore, I was unable to connect my electric guitar to the phone and use Garageband, as I always did with my old phone. With this adaptor the problem is resolved. I can connect my guitar to the Iphone8 using either a Griffin Cable or an Irig 1. It sounds good with Zero latency. The only drawback is that the cable of the adaptor is quite thin; it has to be treated with care.

I bought this adapter after some research. My iPhone 12 Pro was not broadcasting audio out on a livestream using an external wireless mic and the similar looking Lightning to 1/8" adapter that Apple provides. After my research, I discovered that Apple's adapter stopped working with external mics starting with the iPhone X. After further research, I discovered that many similar adapters also did not work with external microphones, but this OPSO adapter DID work. I was skeptical, but there was a return policy on this item, so I gave it a shot! Glad I did! This adapter works beautifully with my external wireless lavaliers on my iPhone 12 Pro for video recording and livestreams.

This product works perfectly fine with iPhone 12 Pro Max. You can hook up the headphones to listen to music or to answer calls. It is quite thin and light and fits well with a protective cover on the phone. It’s not the cheapest out there but don’t do the mistake I did. Looked up a cheaper item and that did not work with the iPhone even it said it does. So this is a tried and tested item that works with iPhone 12 Pro Max

After reading that Apple’s own adapter and most others do not allow the mic to work—eliminating making phone calls—I tried this one with my Bose QC headphones despite this product having no reviews. So far it has been a complete success.I can detect no deterioration in sound quality vs using the headphones with a 3.5 mm jack. This adapter works exactly as it should with my iPhone XS.I also tried it on my iPad 10.5 Pro which has a standard audio plug. Clipping this into the lightning jack works perfectly fine and gives me control over volume, pause and next track as it should using the controller on the headphone cable.

It doesn’t work .I tried connecting it in my boya mic to my iPhone XR but it doesn’t work at all don’t know what to do .

I've tried several cheap imitations that all have one issue: they work for listening but not for talking (microphone side doesn't work on cheap ones)This one allows me to use a shotgun type microphone with my phone. it also lets me use a headset with my phone. works great
