Duralex Picardie Tumblers, Set of 16

Fantastic glasses, great sizes. The box image is wrong -- the large sized glasses only hold 16 oz. I returned my first order because the glasses showed up extremely dirty. They looked used, with an obscene amount of hard water spots and grime. The second package suffered the same fate -- and was obviously used, as all the seals were broken and the box worn in. Instead of returning this set, I decided to see if they cleaned up nicely. Wow. It took five runs through the dishwasher, two soakings in a 50% vinegar / 50% water solution, a lot of scrubbing, and they're still not 100% clean looking. They're 5-star glasses that arrived in 1-star condition. I'm giving Duralex the benefit of the doubt and chocking the dirtiness up to the current seller.

Just okay - we got these and the Italian Bormouli. The Italian glass is much clearer and more elegant. I know the Duralex is unbreakable but the Bourmoili looks like it can take a pounding too. Get the Italian Glass!

I do love their plain, functional Picardie.Unfortunately, one of the tumbler was broken already before I opened the box.I could returned it but decided to just keep it because I do not want to carry back to Post office which is pretty heavy.(I am living in the NYC, so I need to either take a bus or subway with this box)They do not have any fragile sticker on the box and there was only one small sheet of air pillows in the box. The two boxes were moving inside of the big box and plenty of room to move. I think they should more care about how to packing fragile items.

The Duralex Picardie Tumblers are awesome. We had a set that gradually broke after several years, mainly due to us dropping them. This is a replacement set since now our kids are older. Not all picardie glasses are rated to stand up to heat and cold. I had some from picardie glasses from a fancy cook shop but they broke easily. This set was in a new boxed but some of the glasses appeared to have been previously used as they had water spots. While I thought about returning it, the spotted glasses were fine in all other respects and being glass, I just washed them in very hot water and soap. I am not sure whether or not the seller knew that had been used .

Shattered upon delivery. I wanted a nice, less-breakable glass for my kids. I lifted the box when we got it and heard the sound of shattered glass on the inside...and not a small amount either. Yes, delivery personnel might have been overly rough with it but for these break-resistant glasses to be shattered in the box they were packaged in makes me wonder.

These tumblers were purchased to replace a set bought at the local big box store that all broke within a year. So far so good with these. They have a nice substantial heft to them without being too heavy and they are pleasant to hold and drink from. I love the way the smaller ones stack in the cupboard. I can alternate upside down and rightside up on the taller ones to take up less space. I'm pretty confident that these will be with us for a good long time.

I have 5 kids who are extremely hard on dishes. I hesitated buying glass cups because we have had plastic for so long, I worried they would not hold up or all be broken within a week. I have had them for several months now and they have held up extremely well. They are the first to be used and the the fluted edges help my kids to have a better grip on the glass. They stack nicely, so as not to waste any cupboard space. I would highly recommend these glasses and would buy them again in a heart beat!

So disappointed. I searched for what I thought would be great glasses based on reviews, but no luck. After having washed these in the dishwasher several times the large glasses have a cloudy ring in the center. The smaller size are fine which makes no sense. I won't be replacing these, but looking for glasses at Crate and Barrel.
