This is one of my favourite Streatfield books and I am thrilled to have it as an ebook. Highly recommended.

Be warned - you may already own this book! Also called "Skating Shoes!"
Love Noel Streatfeild and was so excited to see a title for sale that I hadn't read before published new. Sorely disappointed when I started reading it and discovered it was a book I already owned under a different title - "Skating Shoes." It's not often I buy a new book for myself and this purchase was a waste. The description should mention the book is also sold under a different name. I would never have guessed that the story of Harriet skating would have anything to do with white boots, and don't think a customer should have to research that - be upfront on the seller side if you want happy customers.

My granddaughter, 2nd grade, in Oxford, England loves the story. She is a precocious reader.

An absolute must-read
Still as wonderful a book as it was when I first read it xx years ago.In fact, better, because I now know and understand a lot more about skating than I did when I was 10 or 12.I think all young girls will love this book.

Classic reading
I bought this for my ten year old granddaughter to go with her ice skating birthday gift. We are reading it together and both of us are enjoying it. It is not the kind of book she would generally read as it is quite dated in parts and I have to give a little background or explain. It is a lovely story and a glimpse into bygone days; just right for Nana and granddaughter! Hopefully we can go on to Ballet shoes next.

At the end,it got quite hard to follow
My ten year old daughter was reading the book but when she finished it, she said that at the end she got lost, didn't understand the story and she decided that she didn't like the book any more. I've read a few books by Noel Streatfield and,so far, I think that she does that in every book. All I can say,is that I was expecting my daughter to have enjoyed it a little bit more.

Nostalgia.
Bought this to bring back childhood memories of reading it, there's another about ballet.Read in my day by all ballet, ice skating mad girls, so written in a slightly older style (1950's/60's)but still a good read.
