Everything was fine until I took it out of the box!As I lifted it, I heard the rattle of something small inside the casing.As I turned it over, the top and bottom halves of the casing separated and the innards fell out onto my lap.On closer inspection, both brackets that the mounting screw in the back panel pass through were snapped off, there were two snapped-off sections - presumably larger retaining clips - missing along the side seams and one small retaining clip snapped off. It was this latter one than had given the game away when I took it out of the box.There were also very visible scratches on the metal casing of the actual optical drive itself.Given that the drive is securely held in a plastic cradle inside a sealed cardboard box, it seems very unlikely that these scratches occurred in transit and must have been there when the drive was packed in the first place.With that in mind, it has been returned for a refund and I will NOT be buying its replacement from this seller.
