These are not audiophile quality headphones, but they are excellent for calls and meetings
I've tested the OpenRun headset at a major sporting goods outlet on several occasions. I found them to be very comfortable with decent sound quality. A few months ago my work headset started to fail so I began researching a replacement. I wear this headset a minimum of 9 hours a day, sometimes 6 days a week, so I needed a comfortable headset. I also had to take into account my wearing hearing aids. Regular headsets don't work well with hearing aids, so this made my search even more difficult. When I began my search, I didn't know that Shokz had a headset with a microphone, it didn't take me long to find out they did. At first I was a little hesitant to drop $200 dollars on them not knowing how they would perform for my work needs, but I eventually gave in when my Jabra headset refused to hold a charge for more than an hour. 2 days later they arrived. I immediately tested these with my PC. I found they have a decent quality sound, same as the OpenRun. Let me point out that these are in no way comparable to any high end, audiophile quality headphones. The sound is good, but if you are a music snob, these aren't for you. The highs and lows are very good, but I find the mid range a little muddy. They are still good enough to stream music while working or working out, but they do not compare to the sound of any high end headphones or speakers. Several reviewers found the lows uncomfortable. Yes, certain sounds in the low frequencies will cause an uncomfortable feeling where these meet your head. This was most evident when receiving a call, the ring tone sometimes is almost painful. This is the one point that I dislike about them, they have a default ring tone that I have yet to figure out how to change, it's Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries. Now I like this tune as much as anyone, but when your entire skull vibrates, you are very quick to answer that call. I'd love to be able to change to a less intense tune as well as find a way to adjust it's volume. I could handle the tune if the volume were a bit lower, but the only way I have found to do that is to turn the headset volume down, but then hearing well on some calls becomes difficult. So overall I would say the quality of the product seems excellent, they are very comfortable, they work well with hearing aids, and the sound quality is very good. Again, not audiophile quality, but still very good for the average person. They beat out earbuds and most work quality, closed headphones in all of these areas. 9 out of 10, would buy again and have already recommended these to several of my coworkers who also have hearing aids.

a faithful companion :'(
i've had these boys since feburary and i gotta say: they are pretty dang good for their niche.audio quality: the mids are a bit heavy but not as much as you'd expect. the highs are there and the bass literally vibrates against your head lol it feels very weird at first. they also have enough volume to drown out any sound from around you without distorting at all which is pretty nice. you can tell they're kinda optimized for voice which makes sense. the soundstage is very weird with these because it sounds like if there's a overhead sound system but everywhere? if you put plug your ears with even your fingers in it really makes the whole spectrum fill out which is interesting. earplugs add a surprising amount of depth! they're still not winning any awards for their quality but they are passably good enough. you don't buy these for epic fidelity. i do think if the transducers were bigger like shokz's other models they would prob have different sound quality but i haven't sampled any of them.i work IT in a manufacturing company where company policy is only open headphones or bone conduction on the floor. these allow you to hear people, forklifts, cranes or whathaveyou and still have a solid phone call or listen to music while walking. maintaining situational awareness is a very important thing with heavy industry going on around you BUT ALSO not compromising too bad on the sound quality no matter what's going on around you. that's what you buy these for. they are better than any in-ear headphone for that even if they have an audio passthrough mode because they don't block your ears at all.mic quality is SUPERB. it doesn't matter where you are on the factory floor this thing will WORK. it's bluetooth so it's always gonna be slightly crunchy but this thing picks up your voice perfectly even against heavy background noise. it's really nice to be able to take and make calls no matter where you are in the company. it makes it very nice to be on the phone with someone while you're running and tracing cables or adjusting cameras.battery life: SUPERB. these things can last a week ish on and off usage, they use very little power if you're not in a call or listening to anything.the fit: COMFY. you can wear these all day long and they hold onto your head no matter what you're doing. i have basically worn these every day since i got them. i have long hair and they are very agreeable whether my hair is up or down. the boom doesn't even stick out crazy far so they kinda disappear in my hair lolthe range: certified good enough. sometimes surprising how much it can go thru but not like crazy long range or anything.the only feature i really wish these had was 2 device pairing. it would be super nice to pair these to both my phone and my desktop. onboard EQ would also be nice but not a super big deal i think.sadly i come to report that i dropped them last friday after a long week of networking a new shop and stepped on them 😭 i found them buried in the snow at lunch.pro tip: don't step on them with steel toe boots loli got another pair tho. they are an indispensable tool!!!!
