Serendipity Bible: For Personal and Small Group Study

So nice I kept the inscription that was already in it.

I thought this was a brand new book. Did not see that it wasn't in the description. Overall the book is in good shape with a little stain damage. When selling something at a higher price you may want to take off the Half Price Books sticker. Ha Ha! The book will be well worth the price I paid. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

This particular Bible is only available used. This one arrived in really good shape. The first page's give very good information about how do use the Bible in a small group. Also gives sample small group outline and curricula for six studies on a particular topic. If you can find one in good condition grab it. They can be hard to come by.

I have several Bibles because of the different translations. I use them all in my teaching. However, when my pastor recommended this Bible to me and showed it to me in his office, I knew that I had to have it. For anyone who wants to understand the scriptures better or is hunting for answers to particular problems, this is the answer. Along the margins of each page or statements and questions that apply to the scripture on that page. The questions are thought-provoking and illuminating. In the center of the book, there is a section so that the reader can find scriptures particularly relevant any any specific group--male, female, teen, bereaved, etc. This is particularly meaningful tom for knowing that I can readily access scriptures which will directly address a problem with which I or one of my friends is dealing is wonderful. I ordered the KJV because it is my favorite translation. I love the beautiful language. My only problem with this is the thin pages. Any Bible reader will know that all Bibles are printed on an India-type paper. At times this makes using a new Bible difficult. This one is especially thin; however, since I use it as a study Bible, this is not a real problem. For one who wants to read the Bible with understanding and who seeks answers, I highly recommend this Bible.

Its been about 2 weeks since I got home and found a little package sitting at my door, waiting for me to open it and enjoy the reading material within.. I was soooo excited to see it, to actually be HOLDING a serendipity bible in my hands! So many people i've spoken to have had such great things to say about this bible, so I feel very privileged to say that I now OWN one :) At first, I must say, it was a little bit confusing... Some parts (especially the middle part, where all the ongoing studies are), were left untouched simply because I had no idea what to do with them or where to start! But after a while, the book got a little less scary, and I found myself enjoying the freedom that comes with having ready made questions right here for you to use during a bible study... No more awkward silences after somebody's just poured out their heart... No more freaking out after the subject text has been read because you don't know how to get the discussion rolling.. It's all there, ready to use, and I must add that so far, I'm yet to have come across a dud question. All in all, I absolutely LOVE this new resource, its made things much easier, and has given me a lot more room to be spontaneous and fun in my group bible studies as a lot of the pressure is taken off. Thank you amazon... I am a very happy bunny :)))

I love the way this Bible is set up. The New International Version translation is accurate and easy to read, and the Bible studies are well done. In the center of the book is a section of topical Bible studies for all different interests. And there is also a lovely study following every part of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation - right in the margins of the scriptures. That study is offered as a 5 or 9 week study, your choice - and can be done individually or with groups. I've done the 9 week study with a group and it lasts just about 1 hour, which is perfect. When I do the studies by myself, they're about 15 minutes - which is also perfect for my morning devotions.

This is the study Bible that our son chose for his Christmas present. It came quickly and we are very pleased with the condition.

Has very basic, relationship oriented bible study topics across the Bible. They come in a form of Ice breaking questions and then open- thought provoking and leading to personal experience questions about the texts read! It's been a very useful reference point for me in my group Bible studies.
