GREAT information! Clean pages too
This atlas is exactly what I was looking for for our homeschooling family! We already own a massive, beautiful atlas, but it isn't always the right thing for our purposes. On one hand, it has too much information (pages and pages of detailed combined geographic/political maps) and not enough information (about climate, peoples, etc.).I chose this atlas because it seemed to be simpler overall. I especially wanted fewer maps overall so that my children can more easily find the basic information they might be looking for at this point. I also wanted plenty of political maps with different colored countries, because those are so easy to "read" for younger people learning the shapes and locations of countries (or states). I was happy to see that there is also really great information about landscapes, geography, and more -- all of it presented on very clean pages (so much "kid-oriented" stuff is too busy for my tastes!!!!).It is true that it is very heavy on the United States, so if one is looking for more world coverage this wouldn't be quite right. But for us this is just one atlas and geography text among many that we will use as we learn about the world. I am happy with its strengths: simplicity in layout, limited but relevant (and current) maps, extra useful information for thinking about geography.

Great academic resource
I bought this for our ten year old son to use as a resource since the last world atlas book we had was from 1991. The pages are colorful and full of details about each region thst make it user friendly and appealing to kids to read. The content is perfect kids to learn about every part of the world within minutes. This is a great resource for kids to use when working on homework, school projects for social studies or even to look at for fun.

Not just for kids
I got this book for my 10 yr old daughter since she keeps asking me questions I can’t answer, thinking we could look at it together. Well, she’s not that interested so I’ve been using it to educate myself. I have to say, I’m learning a lot :)

Arrived with beat up corners, but the book content is wonderful.
I ordered two. One looks brand new, and the other looks like maybe it's been used before or took some minor abuse on the shelf. The corners are beat up and the cover has a bend in it. It's not what I expected when I paid full price for a new book.
