Tempermental, short-lived and junky.
What a piece of junk: it requires two USB cables to be plugged in to the computer at the same time to function, and the ones that are supplied barely reach across my MacBook Pro. In addition to having to be basically placed right under the laptop to reach ports on both sides, it never reliably opened and became more and more fickle about it until I gave up. You can try to pry it open, but you'll mostly just dislodge the whole drive from its housing if you try. Garbage, I would never buy this item again.

this thing is crap, it only worked the 1st couple times
Requires power-cord as well as a data cord. It also has a 'touch eject,' which means there no eject button. right now it has a cd stuck in it right now. it won't eject
