Beyond The Code Book 1-4 (4 Books Set)

These are great comprehension books IF you know how to teach them. Like Explode the Code (which we are HUGE fans of in our house) these books come with very very little instruction. I wish they came with a teacher's guide, like the ETC series, but alas they do not. These were reccomended to me by a teacher-friend of mine who had already used them with her kids at home, and she gave me pointers on teaching/instructing this curricula. I think it would be a lot better for people who don't have that luxury to have a teaching guide. I still think these are great. We are on ETC book 2 and just started BTC book 1 for my special needs 2nd grader, and so far they are good companion pieces. I suspect for a neurotypical learner these books would be good for 1st grade.

Great series to help kids with reading comprehension, the pictures are cute and are easy to instruct.
