I was little disappointed by that. It also has a pretty faint smell. I think it smells good, but I just can’t really smell it while it’s lit. So let's get the good out of the way. It looks good, you could have this Ina variety of places in your home, and it wouldn't clash. The wax burns nice and even. I've used this on and off for about 3 weeks, and it doesn't have the "steps" that so many other candles have when used multiple times.But let's get to why I'm not recommending this to most people. The scent is so subtle, it's almost not even there. I understand some people would prefer a scent that isn't overpowered, and overly obvious. But give me some kind of clue, besides the flame, that I've lit a candle.In my home, we have an infant, a toddler, and a cat. So fighting odors is literally a daily battle. So i was hoping for a little more of a scent, but it's really not there, and neither is the value.

From the packaging and the thick glass jar to the beautiful fragrance profile. I chose “Golden Luster” which is sweet orange, cedarwood & clove. It smells amazing! I also love that it is made from all natural soy wax, has a cotton wick and is infused with essential oils.

I am a candle girl and I definitely categorize them for different uses and whether I would consider them giftable. This Benevolence LA Pacific Driftwood falls into both the "indulgent" & the "nice giftable" groups. The packaging for the external box is a bit basic but the candle itself is elegantly simple. It looks and smells like something that is piped into high end hotels in hip neighborhoods that you always wish you could recreate at home. Now, you can. The scent itself is subtle, but not faint. By that I mean it is the understated chic of fig and sandalwood with a hint of eucalyptus so it is like you are at a ritzy spa overlooking the woods. I can smell it from across the room and I have yet to light it. I love it so much, I am hesitating to use it up but I will come back and update this review if it does not meet the high expectation it has set. I think this come is named because of its charitable component, which makes it even more impressive to me.

This candle is boxed more like a perfume, and maybe that's because it smells like one too! In a word, the fragrance is indescribably delicious! Patchouli I love, but I wasn't familiar with ebony so I had to look it up. What I learned is that ebony is a rare wood with a scent that is "creamy, spicy, and sweet". They hit the nail right on the head with that one!From the moment I opened the box, even through the protective bubble wrap, the perfume-like scent of this candle made me fall in love with it. It promises to be one of my favorite fragrances ever. Really, I would buy it in a bottle if I could.This fragrance feels--how shall I say it-- "intimate"-- which is why I haven't lit it yet. Tonight I will be burning it for the first time, and I can't wait. If for some reason it doesn't drift right out of that jar the way I'm anticipating, I will be one disappointed customer. Seriously.If this review is not followed by a critical update that says it somehow fell short of my expectations; If in fact you like "creamy, spicy, and sweet"; If you like a candle with a scent that makes you feel like you want to wear it--THIS IS IT.
