The standard Flatmaster doesn't have a heater, there is a heater version available, which is the Flatmaster 2000, with this model you have the choice of L (left) or R (right) the one you require will depend on where you're ducting from the unit.

Q: Would it be satisfactory to place the flatmaster in a wardrobe and have the air blown through from the back wall?

As long as there is an opening in the wardrobe to let the air out into the room I cannot see a problem. Obviously the unit must not be covered over as it may get hot

Q: I live in a hot dusty country. Want to pump filtered fresh air into home at night instead of leave windows open. No recovery, no heat. Will this do?

I have this Flatmaster and it does as it says which is to slowly pump air into the property. It is not a fast blow of air but just a small amount. You can feel the air coming out of the machine if you put your hand in front of it. I would say that it would be a good constant circulation of air into a property and it certainly has helped any appearance of any mould. I suppose it depends on what size your property is? Mine is a 2 bedroom Ground floor flat.
