Great Enhanced Dialog
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Bought for the enhanced dialog feature, not the Roku streaming, and it works better than the fancy expensive sound bar on my other TV for a fraction of the cost. At only 14" wide, it also fits on the smaller stand where I have my 43" Samsung TV. Comes with an HDMI cable so you can operate everything from your one TV remote. Only annoyance was Roku's insistence on users entering their credit cards in the setup process for streaming we did not want...the secret is first signing up for a Roku account on another device (laptop, phone), allowing you to skip the credit card step on the TV entirely.

Works great.
I have always hated the fact that the newer tv sound is terrible compared to the tv's of old. They've improved dramatically with on screen sharpness & color but the sound is awful. I'm sure they have improved the sound within the last couple of years, but I needed something to improve what I already have. I don't remember the first sound bar name that I tried years ago, but it was to tinny sounding and the remote didn't work for the volume. And I wasn't going to invest in a sub woofer that would take up more space. Very frustrating! This time I bought the Roku sound bar and what a big difference! I've had a fire stick for many years now and it wasn't working as well as it use to no matter how many times I updated, so I thought getting a sound bar and a streaming service would help both of these situations out with one purchase. And it did. The sound is wonderful, the base added keeps it from sounding tinny. And my Netflix & Amazon Prime work well now. So I'm very happy with this purchase. Now we wait to see how long it lasts. ;)

Another Homerun product from Roku!
We finally cut the cord to save almost $200/month on our television watching. We've had a larger Roku streambar that I've written a previous review for. That was primarily for improving the sound quality and "smarts" of a rather dumb older TV. This time we mainly wanted the streaming platform and the Roku content itself, which is quite a lot!It took some adjusting to learn the difference between Roku "live" which you can't pause or playback, vs the seemingly endless catalog of content available in the general Roku collection. We do have Max for some live programming and 1-day delayed newer content but otherwise, Roku is meeting our entertainment needs at least until football restarts. An especially big shoutout to the Roku movie selection: it is what Netflix used to be! Very high quality but perhaps lesser known films starring Great actors, as opposed to today's Netflix which is some original programming and a ton of rehashed movies you can always see on regular cable e.g. Captain America or The Hangover Part II. Why is anyone still paying $9-14/month for that!? Highly recommend Roku as sound enhancement and pay-one-and-done affordable entertainment

Solid purchase, double check all the functions to guarantee match for your needs
So I give this a 4.5 if I can. It’s so close to a 5 - it’s small but mighty. My husband and I were both surprised at how great and powerful the sound is. The fact that it’s offers both streaming and acts as a sound bar is an absolute plus - 5 stars for that. I absolutely prefer a really small sound bar that isn’t taking over my entire mantel or needing to be mounted to the wall. HOWEVER one of my favorite functions of a sound bar is being able to connect my music and use it as a music speaker and as far as I can see, that isn’t an option. I didn’t know that at time of purchase but I would still really recommend this, especially if you have don’t have a huge space, aren’t looking for a big ol’ sound bar, or want the functionality of it being a sound bar streaming combo.

Quite an improvement
For the first time in four years, I can finally hear clearly what's coming from the TV on my boat without needing to turn up the volume to 95. It's literally a night and day improvement from the tiny, tinny TV speakers. Easy to set up and works just like a regular Roku device. Just an FYI, this Streambar SE still works even if you don't have an HDMI ARC port, like my TV. Anything you stream will still play through the speaker. The optical cable is only required for sound if the source is coming directly from the TV. I don't think the description makes that clear enough.

You get the bang for the buck!
This streambar delivers. Whether you have hearings aids or not the sound is great and we can understand everything. it's really easy to setup. Our tv picture for some reason even looks better.

Simple, cheap improved audio.
Does the job. Our new (but cheap) tv has crappy audio. With this Roku soundbar we can hear what people say and don't need closed captions.

Quality Unit at an Excellent Price Point.
This is a great buy for anyone that has a smaller and older tv that has lousy sound from the inboard speakers. Words of advice: check your tv for supporting hardware. I recommend using HDMI ARC. I'm glad I do because it works like a charm when set up with the Roku Streamer. However, I also switch my tv to antenna mode in which case I would have to use the optical cord, but the cord is not compatible with my older tv audio port but I understand there are cords available that could solve this issue which I am currently researching. As for set up, physically it's easy. Plug the power cord into an outlet and the HDMI cord into your HDMI ARC port and turn you tv on. The included remote unit will likely not turn the tv on so make sure you have your original tv remote control or a way to turn it on manually. After that just follow the prompts. As for sound the unit is no where near top end, but it works well for the price point and that is important for those of us on a fixed budget.
