Worthy alternative to premixed sports drinks
This is actually one of four flavors of this BCAA drink mix I’m reviewing (the others are Peach Mango, Fruit Punch, and Tropical Punch). These are functionally more or less the same product, so most of this review applies to the other flavors as well. After about two months of regular use, I’ve found this drink mix to be a worthy alternative to the premixed sports drinks that I had previously relied upon for pre-workout hydration. Its main draw is that it contains the branched chain amino acids (BCAA’s) leucine, isoleucine, and valine in a 2:1:1 ratio. The effects of these BCAA’s won’t be massive, but they should help a bit around the edges with workout recovery, muscle fatigue, and the like. I also approve of the inclusion of electrolytes from interesting sources - sodium from Himalayan rock salt and (some) potassium from coconut water powder.Be advised that free amino acids do contain calories (3.4 kcal/g compared to 4 kcal/g in regular proteins), so the 7 grams of those free amino acids per serving contained in this product provide about 25 calories that don’t show up in the Supplement Facts label. This is kind of understandable given that most products with free amino acids don’t declare them at all, as they’re usually not present in enough quantity to make much of a caloric difference, but it’s still arguably misleading. To close out with some remarks specific to the Raspberry Lemonade flavor, I subjectively found it to be the best-tasting of them all, despite also being bracingly sour. That might not sound like the most ringing endorsement, but the way I see it, I care more about function than taste for a product like this one anyway.

Good BCAA version, decent flavor
I love the fact that there are no artificial coloring or flavoring in this BCAA product. The taste isn't bad at all... though I did mix it with another protein powder (no flavoring in that one though). The 3 branched chain amino acids are in a typical amount and proportion for such a product (very similar to other versions), just without all the additional crap you might find in other versions. This product is quite clean and tastes pretty good ... so overall, I'm quite happy!

decent formula, except for flavoring and sweeteners
I've had generally good experience with Nutricost, they're products are always good and priced very well. This is also a good product - it would make a good post-workout drink thanks to it's BCAAs and robust electrolyte support. However, I have an issue with sweeteners, and dyes. This is very sweet and all of that sweetness comes from sucralose, which I've found makes me feel groggy, and this product also does that. It wouldnt be so bad if it weren't so sweet, or combined other sweeteners, but this amount of sucralose in each dose is not a great idea, even if you don't observe this effect. I would suggest to companies that they reduce their use of it, possibly by making it less sweet, and possibly offering the product in unflavored or mildly flavored form. The flavor itself doesn't taste like raspberry to me, it just tastes sweet and acidic. Maybe I'm not understanding "raspberry lemonade" since I've never actually had it as a drink.A separate issue is that this isn't a substitute for protein - it can only supplement it. Many products of this type are going with EAAs (rather than just BCAAs), providing some amount of essential aminos that you'd need in a post-workout drink. I'm actually adding collagen to this which somewhat provides other aminos, but it's still pretty lopsided. It's not a bad product at all but I think it could be improved. I'd still recommend NutriCost to anyone as a trusted brand.

DELICIOUS!
Raspberry Lemonade flavor is very good. It has all the BCAAs you need plus much needed electrolytes. I use this regularly for the kiddos and myself on hot summer days. This is NOT a pre-workout drink as far as energy/caffeine goes. Just the BCAAs and electrolytes. I will buy this again!
