We have our aunt’s dog and he will bite when scared or you touch him and he doesn’t want to be touched. I was too sick and tired of spending 20 minutes or so trying to get him in the house without getting bit when I needed to go out, or at 10 pm. He’s a small dog, but the net is secure and it’s actually heavy for me to carry him. He now runs when he sees the net, but with the length and sturdiness of it, I can capture him quickly. He knows he’s bests once he’s in it so it easier to carry without him struggling. He’s about 12 lbs. He’s fine once I get him inside and let him out of the net. I think for small dogs or chickens it would work well. He can’t escape from it but once I put it in the ground, he isn’t tangled in it either.

On a positive note the net and pole seem strong and sturdy. The pole with positive locks at each length. Do not intend to use the light as it is cheap and will likely not last. Many of the net components have a high ferrous content and will not survive in a marine (saltwater) environment which it was advertised to withstand.

Once you affix the net ring to the end of the pole, you can then add the included light which will help when using the net in the dark.The light requires you to add in the batteries needed in order for it to work. This light needs to larger and have a rechargeable battery so that you don't have to keep replacing them, that's one thing I'd like to see changed. I'd also like to see the light casing made of metal (instead of thin plastic) for more durability, as you're going to likely be knocking the pole against trees and logs etc.This net would also come in handy if you dropped your phone in a pond for instance, as it would provide a way to easily fish it out and save your precious data.There are two sections covered in a soft black material which makes this surprisingly lightweight net pole easy to hold and maneuver. The light notwithstanding, the Smarkey Animal Catching Net is a 5-star product that I would buy again.

I use my net off label to catch my peacocks. The last net was a fishing net and did not hold up. This one looks a lot tougher. It appears like it will hold up much better.

This comes in pieces and require assembly. Regardless it was really easy to put together in no time at all. I feel the aluminum frame is lightweight but also very rigid. It also has a clean smooth slightly polished. finish. The netting is very big and feels pretty durable. Also comes with a flashlight that attaches to the pole which can be pretty useful because the net requires 2 hands.
