Excellent book with 30 chapters written by different authors or groups of authors. The book presents the history of zoos and aquariums, and excellent discussions of the competing roles of entertainment, education, conservation and animal welfare that these institutions must balance. ~28 1/2 chapters worth reading, with the chapter by Friese a notable exception.

Finally the real facts about the good work some of the good zoos and aquariums are doing for animal welfare and conservation.

Moin, Das gute und interessante Buch kam leider mit aufgeweichtem und aufgerissenem Umschlag an. Ist direkt vom Fahrer abgegeben worden. Das buch ist an einer Stelle aufgeweicht und hat Kratzer. Also mit Transportschaden, da es ein Geschenk sein sollte konnte ich es wegen der Zeit nicht zurück schicken. Ein anderes Buch kam zum gleichen Zeitpunkt mit aufgeweichtem Umschlag. Buch war aber OK.
