Not the fastest network specs but certainly the cheapest for the features.
Bought as a back up to a very expensive modem router. Internet access speed only slightly slower. Network speeds criminally slow but that's not what I bought it for. This is an excellent choice to replace an issued router or keep as a backup.Easy to set up and good user interface.

Cheap and cheerful
The broadband function connect fine first time and the connection speed is as good or better than my old Plusnet(BT) router which had become unreliable. I had problems with most of my WiFi devices connecting and then dropping off straight away and was on the point of returning it. I tried a few settings on the WiFi channel and magically the problems were resolved - don't ask me what I changed! Although I think it was the 'extension' channels setting. The admin UI is adequate and usable. The main annoyance is that the network map doesn't show hostnames, so reserving DHCP addresses means checking the DHCP log to find the Mac addresses of devices before going back to the DHCP settings to reserve the address. The other oddity is the scary length of time it takes to apply even simple config changes. But hey, it works well, it was cheap and I don't plan on spending my life configuring it now that it's set up.

Not so great Asus router
For some people this may be a good buy but compared to other routers I have had, this for me was not one of the best. It does have 5 ports on the back but I found the strength and quality of the signal to be poor. Maybe it's to do with the area where you reside but while it may be fine for you it was not too great for me.

A good economical modem router
I found it easy to set up as a replacement for a 6 year old modem router which was beginning to give problems. Adequate for my simple needs. I have not made use of its more advanced features and didn't need any technical support.

Couldn't set it up. Unusable and useless. Initiated a return within 6 hrs
I found this product a complete waste of time. Despite all the claims about being able to set it up in 30 seconds, I wasn’t able to connect it at all. Within 6 hours of opening the box I had repacked it all and initiated a return to Amazon. There were a series of problems.1 - Although it is sold as a wireless modem/router, the first use requires the use of a wired connection from the computer, to the router, and then to the phone line signal splitter. This required me to dig out some old cables from a previous computer 15 years ago which were long enough to reach upstairs. Nevertheless, I did manage all the required connections.2. After powering up the router then a “QIS Wizard”, ie quick installation set-up wizard, is supposed to start up automatically. It didn’t for me. For that case the printed quick start guided (supplied in the box) advises to go to a web address instead. That does indeed present an ASUS page asking for a username and password.3. Unfortunately, the values given for the username and password in the quick start guide, ie “admin”, don’t work.4. This ASUS webpage is a different style from the screen shot in the guide, and the webpage mentions an “ASUS router account” to which there is no reference in the guide, so things don't match up between the guide and the screen.5. The screen-shots in the guide are in fact very small and one would need a microscope to read most of the text, so that doesn’t help either.6. The quick start guide mentions an internet connection option “in the user manual”. Unfortunately, that user manual is not supplied, only the quick start guide. If you have better luck than me or are a computer whizz kid then maybe you’ll able to set up this router. I feel there’s a lack of adequate documentation and a badly implemented user interface which unfortunately makes it unusable and useless. It puts me off buying any other ASUS products in the future.

WIFI Fails
This was cheap at about £17 so I suppose you get what you pay for. However Asus is supposed to be a reliable brand.....The WIFI signal fails frequently - occassionally more than once a day, but it can go a few days without failing. The Internet connection appears to stay connected when the WIFI fails (Internet is still available on my ethernet-connected TV, for example), but when I am in the middle of something on the laptop, then have to either restart the Asus or connect with an ethernet cable when the WIFI fails, it is very annoying.DO NOT BUY if you need a reliable connection.

works with sky
A replacement for an old net gear router - works fine with sky - also supports dynamic DNS so I have a VPN setup to azure via an ASA which works fine. Cant really fault it considering the cost. Check the sky forums for setup instructions as it requires a user name & PW (for PPPOA authentication), oh and it took an hour or so for the internet connection to come back up - I left it overnight and it was working after a few hours.
