I ordered this because the other gate latch I have was smaller and I wanted a larger handle to make opening the gate easier. This works really well and install was easy. Seems like it will be durable.

I installed this latch on our gate that had a smaller latch that broke off. I ordered this one because it had a thick bar they would never just wear out and break off. So far, it’s heavy duty and seems like it will last forever.

They are fairly well built. Nice fit and finish. Brass retainer lug for the swivel is going to wear out but can easily be replaced which is a good thing. The screws are pathetic at best.. get better ones.

This set of gate latch & lock hardware was heavy duty, but the screws provided were not. The gauge was too small and the length was too short. I fortunately had larger gauge and longer wood screws that I used, which provided a good sturdy installation.The bar and locking mechanism made the hardware much more durable than what had been previously installed and I expect will handle the frequent open & closing without failure.One item in particular favorable about the component that attached to the gate door was that it is an angle iron, so screws are installed from the front and the side improving the durability.
