I neither like nor dislike the little pods/sponges and accessories. They do what they are designed for, they work well for growing small plants hydroponically, and are very useful for starting plants that will be later transplanted in a yard or garden. I have two Aerogardens that I use this kind of sponges and pods to start small flowers that I will later put in my front yard after they are large enough to survive outside.

This starter kit got all the hardware needed to setup hydroponic plants except the seeds. The twelve grow baskets with domes are cone shape, it takes up very little space and reusable with the thirty growth sponges that were included in the box. It comes with two small container of plant foods. Given it's small size, it's best as seeds starter.

This kit comes with all of the stuff you need to grow your aerogarden. The only thing you are missing are the seeds. It comes with the foam for the seeds to grow in. Definitely a bargain compared to the ones purchased directly from Aerogarden.

This kit doesn’t seem to be the same quality of the kit that actually came with my Aerogardens, but it will get the job done, I suppose. The substrate holders are shorter and the opening is smaller. Probably will struggle to accommodate larger seeds, but these will get the job done for smaller seeds. The smaller size shouldn’t really masher matter either since Aerogardens water from the top down.

We recently got a hydroponic grow system, and we are absolutely over the moon about it. Initially, I wanted one because I got sick of not being able to find fresh basil and cilantro at the store (and we had way too hot of a summer to grow anything outside - it was a total hellscape). Now, we always have anywhere between 8-12 things growing. Sure, the size limits you somewhat, but being able to grow fresh stuff...Anyway, our system came with everything you need to grow things except for the seeds. Given our use, we very quickly ran out of the sponges and little domes. This was a great refill option, even coming with the covers, frames, and some fertilizer/plant food. The plastic used feels a bit flimsier than the originals, but it works. We're quite happy!

I live in the southwest US high desert zone and growing herbs is usually a hit or miss depending on the heat and humidity (100 degrees + and <10% humidity).. I love fresh basil and with our short growing season, it's not usually possible to keep fresh basil around for very long. This kit is the perfect answer so we can grow our herbs indoors with controlled temps and humidity. The growing pods fit our Aerogarden perfectly and the kit includes everything needed except the seeds. I'm using standard Burpee seeds which work well in my Aerogarden. I'm also impressed with the packaging, very environmentally smart. The box is small, but includes plenty of growing pods for repeat starts when needed. Other brands use much larger cardboard boxes and contain less items. I've got my basil planted and ready to start growing for the winter!

My Aerogarden was languishing on the shelf, gathering dust until I made this purchase. The grow baskets in the kit, although slightly different from my Aerogarden's original ones, fit seamlessly and securely, making the transition hassle-free.I'm delighted to share a snapshot of my thriving queen lettuce seedlings, which sprouted without a trace of mold, thanks to this kit. It's been a lifeline for my once-neglected Aerogarden. The compatibility, quality, and included accessories are exceptional, especially considering the price.If you have an Aerogarden that's been neglected like mine, I wholeheartedly recommend ordering this kit. This is a nice little kit! I needed more grow sponges/baskets, but figured that I would order a new all-in-one kit (with domes, fertilizer, etc) rather than baskets and sponges separately. This works great, and is nicely packaged so you can tuck away unused stuff for later. I haven't seen issues with fungus like I have with other sponges, although I am having issues with algae (which is more the Aerogarden design itself). Note: It says 68 pieces - that's everything in the kit, not 68 grow baskets/sponges.
