Early learning box of up to 50 educational games for 3-6 year olds.
This is a box of educational games recommended for ages 3-6, but I would say it was more suited for 3-5, as some of it is very babyish past the age of 5 and some children even at 5 may be too advanced for some of the games. It is certainly suited for early years learning, for reading and spelling, as well as number games. The overall theme of the games is the farm and it has farm animals and fruits and veg as predominant features to most of the games and activities. The set comes with a talking light up carrot character pen, called Carotina that helps to teach words and read along, a little like a Leapfrog pen.Included in the set are: Carotina pen (with batteries included), a didactic guide, colours peacock, the vegatable garden, 12 mini animal jigsaws, 24 chick memory game cards, 15 animal cards, double sided rooster game board, 4 farm girl pieces and holders, arrow spinner, a shapes and words hen shaped jigsaw puzzle, 60 egg shaped letters and numbers (51 letters, 9 numbers), milk tractor puzzle, bingo sac and a double sided games poster. With everything included in the box, you can play up to 50 different games and there is a guide book included in the box, which explains each game and how to play it, for parents to show their child and get involved in educational play. The games have been designed and created as a project by the Lisciani Research Center in Italy, especially for early developmental play and have been tested by educators and child psychologists in a team led by Professor Giuseppe Lisciani, who has a medal for educational merit. The game has a list of potential educational values on the box with a points scale. The most points are in the Language and Communication area. For review purposes I will list only the areas where points have been given for educational value, although the list has more areas that have not been awarded a points value (I suspect as learning values have not been established in those areas, so I will not include them for review). The list as points awarded includes:Language and communication:Pre reading and writing (5 points)Reading and decoding images (3 points)Recognising the alphabet (5 points)Reading and writing words (5 points)Building vocabulary (3 points)Mathematical and Logical Thinking:Reading and writing numbers (5 points)Associating numbers and Quantities (4 points)Size comparison (large, small etc...) (1 point)Recognising differences and similarities (1 point)Memory and attention:Increasing memory capacity (1 point)Developing attention and concentration skills (1 point)Developing observational skills (1 point)Psychomotor Education:Increasing sensory-perceptual capacity (2 points)Increasing fine motor skills (5 points)Emotional Education:Identifying and participating in a game situation (2 points)As stated previously, the list is longer for potential learning, but there are no other value points awarded in these other areas. The games are made with thick durable cardboard, as with many children's jigsaws and should withstand normal play. However, rough play or using around fluids could cause tears or water damage. So like anything made of cardboard, common sense comes into play for keeping pieces safe and playable. The box the games come in is pretty strong and sturdy, to keep everything inside when not in use.A great box of games for predominantly early learning of the alphabet, reading, spelling, numbers and very simplistic maths.

Happy carrot sounds
Tried it with my 3 1/2 yo grandson and he really loves it. It does get bl**dy tedious, though, but he likes it a lot.50 games is stretching it in the way you can call 'frr arking wins money in monopoly' a different gave, but there's a solid dozen plus variants.

Surprisingly good box of fun educational games
This is a surprisingly good box of fun activities, which I think are suitable for children aged 3-5. There are quite a few matching games (eg match the word to the picture), as well puzzles and board games. There is also a clever feature with the included pen (Carotina) which children can use to press one of two black dots to give an answer (eg the letter a word begins with) - it gives a positive sounds of congratulations if you get it right and a negative tone if not. It is a clever idea and my children think it is great.I think the 50-in-1 claim is overselling it a bit, but there are comfortably around 20 or so games that are fun and educational.
