Plastic but serve the purpose good to go with it for the purchased price

The mute comes as advertised, no more no less. The fitment foam will likely need replaced sooner rather than later. I don't know whether the quality of the foam or the adhesive is poor, but it is. But, hey. It's a cheap mute that does a pretty solid job. I would recommend.

The material is not very good, but the truth is that for the price it is excellent and it does its job well.

Not so much a mute as a complete silencer. A mute should attenuate the sound. I don’t know maybe 1/2 or 3dB. This mute literally kills the sound all the way. The intent was to be able to play taps inside a mausoleum or a church without people being blasted way. My 1967 mute is painted up with black orange and snoopy on the flat part. For funerals a little to cheerful. 60dB is a joke by the way. It’s muting less than that but more than 3dB I’m sure.

This is a great, little, basic mute. It slots into the bell well and gives a nice sound without messing with the tone. It's easy to use and small and light enough that it fits pretty well in the case.

The media could not be loaded. The mute works well so far. My son has just started learning the trumpet, so when I saw this, I figured it would be a good mute to start with. It seems really light, and it needs to be pushed in very firmly, but it is working.

I just received this and tried it out. It is a good practice mute, not as quiet as the Protec practice mute, but close and at a much lower price. It is too large to keep fit in the bell (it is about the length of a straight mute) as compared to the Protec which is very short. I am giving it 4 instead of 5 stars because of this, but I would recommend this for at home practice use when you don't want to disturb others. I will be using it!
