Healthy Food for a Healthy Lifestyle
Greek food is very healthy. The majority is fruit and vegetables.There is some meat and fish, but mostly veggies mixed with fruit. I started eating it about four years and it's great!

Easy to follow cookbook with fresh, modernized Greek recipes
I was very impressed once I received this cookbook. It has a ton of Greek recipe favorites that have been modernized and modified to allow for healthier ingredients. Recipes are easy to follow (and I am not a sophisticated cook) and the recipes yield sophisticated dishes that look impressive, but don't require hard to find ingredients. It also includes other features in addition to the recipes, such as descriptions of the regions of Greece, a brief history of Greek cuisine, and the common ingredients that make up these dishes. There's a little bit for everyone, whether you're familiar with Greek food or are exploring it for the first time, including vegan recipes, classics such as Moussaka and Spanakopita, and more modern recipes such as olive oil ice cream. There's enough variety that I will be using this cookbook a lot for both everyday cooking and special occasions. Highly recommend!

A much needed addition to the cannon of Greek cookbooks. As per the title, the recipes tilt toward the healthier side of some classic Greek recipes. There are several vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options, which is awesome. A few recipes are guaranteed hits: baked zucchini patties, an avocado scordalia, which I've never seen before, spinach pie with a cream cheese twist, two different octopus dishes, an eggplant salad with tahini, and tomato diples. There are many easy to make staples as well, like braised lamb with spicy red sauce, chicken stuffed with spinach and feta, and swordfish souvlaki. The Pantry Section tells you what you need to stock up on to create your meals. In general, the books is well organized and easy to follow.

I like it.
I adore Greek food and live in the rural Midwest, so good luck finding it in a restaurant. This book helps a lot. It uses ingredients I can find. Tasty. Helpful. None of the recipes are hard or high calorie. Good cookbook for how we eat, which is high vegetables, no preservatives, low lectin, and as healthy as possible.

I bought this book for my Greek husband to start following and incorporating more Greek dishes in our household. This book is MOSTLY DESSERTS. If you are looking for a book with real Greek dishes this isnβt the one.

Love it π on my Kindle
I travel full time in an RV and spend winters on the Florida "forgotten coast". This book has changed my world of cooking and eating. I can now take full advantage of the fresh seafood and basic fresh vegetables (including greens) available here to produce delicious and healthy meals using Opa! Love it π on my Kindle.

Easy and delicious!
I absolutely adore my Opa! cookbook. I've already made several recipes from it - and they are healthy, easy to make, and really delicious! I am excited to work my way through this great cookbook and I am so glad I discovered it! I highly recommend it.
