Work great but takes time to set up right

I have the 9’ and the 12’ of this brand I can do any combination of length up to 21’. I like the set up it does need a few upgrades to keep bolts and nuts in place. I took the wing bolts out and put in regular bolts and washers in its place. I also added nuts and washers to the leveling bolts because they rattle loose and mill hits them. I just snug them up and it has never came loose again. I don’t over tighten any nuts just snug enough to hold. The set up in pic is a 15’ log with a 17’ rail setup.

Sturdy and works great

The assembly instructions are good, but if you've never used one before you're on your own. That said, it's pretty simply to figure out the setting and leveling of the track and the depth adjustments. I bought this to trim logs that are too big for my mill. It's a great deal for the price. I'm running an Echo 590 with a 28" bar. It was easy to handle and saved a lot of work.

I went for the lowest price

Stabbed a 16 foot log using 2 9ft sets and a connector piece. Works ok, check your settings. The chainsaws vibrations cause the settings crews to turn. Having a long level helps with getting the segments level. Take your time with the setup to avoid poor results. I have no idea what the plastic shims are for. The instructions are not much use.

Horrible design and assembly!

This mill is a piece of garbage.Don't waste your money.Assembly was challenging because the instructions are poor. After getting it assembled and using it to cut one slab, it rattled apart. My saw cut one of the bolts in half, needless to say the chain is screwed as well.Assembly is painful due to tight are to tighten the bolts on the saws bar.I do not recommend this and unfortunately missed the return window. It not even worth scrap material.Trash worthy.

Offwelded bolt and size disparity

First on the good. The manufacturer understands nuts, bolts and washers are dirt cheap and threw a glorious amount of extra parts in the bag. Wish more did this.I really wish the height locking clamped differently, or at least had wingnut on it so I don't have to break out the wrench while trying to get the somewhat unwieldy bar to sit at the same height for both sides for a clean straight cut.On the problem side of things. One bolt for the back bar hold (the thing that actually grips the chainsaw) was misaligned or something and basically is probably badly crossthreaded, I tried to give it some better angle but pretty resigned to my fate on that side I just can't get it to turn easily/cleanly. Which is a real bear with trying to get the clamp done evenly on the chainsaw bar.Sizing - so I have a small end chainsaw. 16" bar craftsman chainsaw. But the chainsaw blade after being in the saw and all that good stuff works out to about a foot of cutting surface once you have the back clamp on. But unless I remove the plexiglass the minimum I can space the locks is 12".. meaning I can't have the chainsaw clamped on both sides and even if I did I would only have 8" cutting surface to work with tops. Ultimately I need a longer chainsaw to play with this new toy.. but I would have held off on the purchase (and got the 48" mill) if I knew I needed a new saw either way. Oh well, such is life.

Safety

This is an item that requires goggles, earplugs and a hardhat with visor. Take your time assembling, don't be alarmed if your left with extra parts. Be safe and if your not familiar with sawmills ,learn from youtube.
