I LOVE THOSE NEEDLES
I LOVE THOSE NEEDLES! I have been knitting for years and own 3 sets of ADDI turbo interchangeable needles and cords.I have wooden needle sets but not that impressed, plastic cord tend to stick to a certain type of yarn. When I saw LYKKE I was first drawn to the looks of the needles, and knitter in me said to try them.First of all, everything is smooth and easy, I have been working on Fingering yarn to make a sweater and ADDI cord connector section kept on catching yarn on my left needle, often have to stop and work bunch to be knit onto my left needle. After a while it really aggravated me, tried other sets but was not quite happy. So the LYKKE arrived today and used them on my work in progress sweater, it was tears of joy.Yes they are very beautiful and the case is really a nice one. It has some smell to it as others mentioned but strangely I'd rather like the smell so no complaints there. I have a big smile on my face about the set, and Thank my husband who generously agreed to purchase them and not to have to wait till Christmas.

Great Set!
Another update! The company quickly sent me replacement needles and I have had no issues since so am updating the set to a 4. If they continue to do so well with time, I will boost them up to a 5. I am really enjoying this set.Update: My first major knitting project with this needle set has not gone well. One of the needles would not stay tightened to the cording so every few rows the stitches would catch where it was coming undone and the last time, the needle came completely off and there I was with live stitches with nowhere to go. I strung them back onto the cord, used a stopper to secure them and put them away for a few days. When I went back to my knitting basket to use a different brand needle, the needle at the other end of the cable had completely broken off at the base where it was secured. This was in a strong walled knitting stand, on the floor and we have no kids or jumping animals so have no idea how this could have happened. I wouldn't think the weight of the shawl would have been enough to break off a needle. Anyway, I have written to the company I purchased this from and hope to get a new size 4 needle set to see if this will solve the problem. I am trying another needle size and cord now to see how that works and will update once I have heard from the company and have tried more needles.Ihaven't been using this set too long but will give a review as to whether it met my expectations, which it did. I do recognize how people said there is an odor to the leather case but I left mine out on a table a few days and the odor went away.I have a few pair of Lykke Driftwood circulars so knew how lovely they are to work with so to have an entire selection of them is just wonderful. I knit every day, have several projects going at once and while I have several other interchangeable kits for different types of yarns, this set has worked for wool, linen and a wool/silk blend so far. The yarn just glides through the needles, a real treat! If you haven't tried Lykke Driftwood needles yet, get your most used size and give them a try. They are truly different from metal, bamboo, plastic and other wooden needles. Their finish is different. They are also more lightweight than standard wooden sets.I highly recommend this kit.

Good set for non lace knitting
I like the quality of this set and the fact that the set included a size 17 needle. I don't like the fact that you can't buy extra stoppers and connectors, like you can for Takumi/Clover. The needles are smooth and sharp. The tips once tightened stays tight. If you wish to knit with a fine yarn, you need to by a different set. Others have complained of the smell of the set. It is not objectionable, at least to me. All in all, I recommend this set.Addendum: After working with this set for a month, I found that the tips don't unscrew like the Takumi/Clover. The connectors are now available separately (through Amazon). There is a hole on each needle for tightening the tips with the tool (or small paperclip) which can be used for Lifelines!! All in all, this is a great set for the serious knitter.

Winner
I heard about these at one of my LYS and intended to purchase there but they were out of stock! I couldn't wait to try them so interesting in Amazon. These are amazing. I have a bamboo set and another wooden set but the joins on these are soooo smooth. My yarn did not get hung up at all as it did on my other sets. Highly recommend and frankly less expensive than a mother's I have seen. Will definitely consider the DpNs when the need arises.

Nice needle set
Value = 4 stars as i really think needles are overpriced in general. I did watch pricing on this set and waited until they had come down in price a bit. That said, i LOVE them. Lightweight and very comfortable to knit with. Joins are smooth (so far, but I've only used two sizes to date). I hope ALL sizes will be smooth....not much worse than having stitches catch on an uneven join.No regrets on this purchase.

I will NEVER use another needle set.
These are everything that I could hope for in knitting needles. The tips can be fastened onto the cables using the hands only and they don't unscrew which had been a big problem with other products I've used. These are an A++++++++.

Needles unscrew from plastic circular inserts
I spent a LOT of money on this set and several of the needles unscrew from the circular plastic inserts while knitting; making the yarn catch and snag. I have to stop often to screw it back in. Unfortunately I bought the set several months ago and the company let me know it is too late to return the product even though I wasn't able to use all of the needles to know which ones do/don't unscrew from the circular plastic. I LOVE driftwood needles, so I was very disappointed.

Very disappointed
I bought this set in February and this was my first big project using the smallest 3.5 mm or US 4 needles. One split half way through the project along the wood grain.
