Quicken Deluxe 2018 - 24-Month Membership For Windows & MAC

So, I have been using Quicken since it’s inception. Did not appreciate the required update a few years ago and the issues that went along with it. However, I stayed with Quicken and now requiired to update again. Purchased Quicken 2018 from Amazon with the 27 month packaged. Tried to install disc, immediate errors with install, figured that I could fight through it. After 2 days, threw my hands up and called Quicken Support. Mind you 3 hours chatting back and forth with this gentleman. Numerous installs and uninstalls, downloads, type this, do that, screenshots, r u kidding me! Outcome after my entire Sunday afternoon, chat session abruptly ends and problems are inresolved. So you know how customer services ask for your contact info in case u get disconnected. Waited for Quicken to get back to me. After a few days, contacted Amazon to return item. Had no problem with Amazon. Still have not heard back from Quicken. this is the 1st time, I have ever written a review. Hopefully this review, will help someone enjoy their weekends.

I have been a user of Quicken since it was a DOS program. Quicken 2018 is not a reliable program. I am missing transaction, sometime duplicate transaction and having issues keeping my bank account balanced. It seems that each time I update my accounts, I have another issue to deal with. I am migrating back to Quicken 2017 and stop using the Quicken bill pay.

Quicken used to be great, trouble free software. In recent years it has been loaded with bugs as they continue to add new features to justify buying upgraded versions not needed by average users. I tried to install 2018 version as did my technician. Encountered many problems and returned purchase to Amazon.In reading reviews from other users , I note that many others were also unhappy with latest Quicken versions.A friend just purchased Quicken Deluxe and we are going to replace my Qucken 2015 and give it one last chance.

I’ve been using Quicken since Microsoft Money was no longer available. Each year that Quicken updates its software, I hope for some improvement and each year I find it no better or even worse than the previous version.

After reading all of the negative reviews I was sweating bullets when I finally decided to install Quicken 2018 on my Windows 10 PC. I previously had been using Quicken 2016 and was perfectly happy with that version, but for the past several months Quicken has been warning me that the end of April I would lose my ability to download using this version and that was only 10 days away. Like most everyone else I hate subscription based programs, but since I have about 30 years worth of Quicken data, I really had no choice except to subscribe and update.I was careful to follow the instructions that came with my program exactly as written. I went to the specified Quicken website and downloaded the installation program. I did not use the Quicken Deluxe 2018 CD disk that I purchased. Anyway, after completing the download of the installation program on my desktop I was instructed to open that program. I was prompted that the program would uninstall my previous version of Quicken and Install the latest version. Shortly into the install I got an error message telling me that the program was unable to uninstall my Quicken 2016 program and that I would have to manually uninstall it via Control Panel. Not a problem I thought, until I went into Control Panel only to find that the new program had partially removed my previous Quicken version and Quicken did not show up as a program in Control Panel. At this point I was sure that I was going to experience all the problems that the negative Quicken reviews had discussed. I opted to go to the Quicken support site and try the Chat Support. Within about 5 minutes the knowledgeable technician walked me through going into the program files and manually deleting the Quicken folder. After I did that it was smooth sailing and I completed the upgrade and activated the program without incident. Although I purchased the 2018 version, the 2019 version was installed. I have only been using the new program for an hour or so, but everything appears to be working fine. I'll update this review if I experience any of the problems discussed in the negative reviews. But at this point I would have to say that I am a happy camper.

Instead of listening to the complainers on this site, I suggest that you Google "best personal finance software 2019". You will find that Quicken is consistently listed as the highest rated option. Most of the negative reviews for Quicken are from old time Quicken users who complain about the conversion of the software to a subscription service. Actually I think the conversion of Quicken to a subscribed service was the right thing to do. The software languished for several years after the demise of the last Quicken competitor, MS Money. Support was horrid and when you did finally did get through to support, the standard answer to any nontrivial problem was "Oh, your data is corrupted" when in fact the problem was with the software. My experience has been that Quicken and the support for the product improved significantly after Intuit sold Quicken to the new company. I have been unable to find any product, including Mint and the other data consolidators, that match the feature set of Quicken. Quicken has no peer and I use it daily to manage my finances. I too am a long term user as I first started using the DOS version of Quicken back in 1991 and I have used the product continuously since then. I have no problem with the subscription price because the software, to me, is more than worth every penny.
