McCall'sMccall's Patterns 7116, Misses Dresses, Chiffon, Size F5 (16-18-20-22-24)

As this pattern is McCall's, with American sizes, you have to check the measurements carefully for your own size, as what you thought would be a size 12 or size 14 in the UK, is a much smaller fit on the pattern.

I've just made view D using a crepe fabric and it's perfect.I had read a couple of reviews which said to size up 2 sizes, so I made a 16 as I'm a 12 in shop bought clothes usually.It's cut on the bias so falls well, very happy with this.

Used the bias cut skirt, which fits very well, but the bodice is baggy and unshaped, so will have to totally rework it to get something wearable. Hopefully I can do that with the material I have, as I don't have enough to cut out more pieces. Overall, disappointing.

This pattern claims to be 'easy' but I found the descriptions and pictures quite hard to follow. This is a shame because the design is very nice. I think you need a good knowledge of sewing terms. I am going to struggle to complete my dress because I am an amateur and I could do with someone to show me

Great dress, but definitely not an easy pattern to follow, would not recommend for a beginner.
