I use my laptop most nights in bed - well into the early hours - and I lie propped up on lots of pillows with my feet flat, knees bent up, with my open laptop resting on my thighs. I've often thought that I could do with just a little bit of extra height under the laptop's hinge, to get a better angle to view the keys and, on occasions, I've used a book or a cushion underneath the laptop to tilt it forward a bit more. However, books slip and slide, and cushions present the risk of the laptop overheating and causing a fire - especially as I tend to doze off for a few hours with the laptop in situ.But, I spent all of last month in bed, in hospital, after being hit by a car and I gave up on the laptop - finding it easier to use my phone for longer periods of time - that was, until I hit upon this little gem. The phone was fine for short periods, but I really needed a bigger screen to watch catch-up, and live TV - which I spent most of the days doing.The 15.6" Asus laptop sat comfortably on this stand and, because of the stand's design I could use the laptop all day without it overheating. With the head end of the bed raised and my elbows by my side, my fingers easily reached the keys, without putting any strain on my neck, shoulders, and wrists. The stand was also great on the hospital's height adjustable over-bed table and, with its various silicone pads on its feet, edges, and surface, it did not slip on the sheets or the table, nor did the laptop slip on the stand.I'm currently being cared for at my sister's home before having another spell in another hospital, for plastic surgery, but when I eventually return to my own home this stand will be brilliant to use with my MacBook, which has the same silver coloured satin finish. They will complement each other perfectly. The stand came nicely boxed, is very lightweight, and folds easily, so it can easily be popped into a laptop case/bag and be be carried anywhere. I've even used it with an 8" Samsung Tablet.The biggest surprise upon opening the box, and a lovely touch, was a small red plastic bag with a funny little face on it. The writing on the bag was all Chinese, and inside were half a dozen little half inch square, cellophane wrapped, chewy sweets. They tasted unusual compared with UK sweets, but they were lovely, much appreciated, and I wished there had been more!

The stand is high quality in build and having two sets of legs is a great idea as it allows the front to be higher or lower, but the stand that I have does have issues with the hinges which are loose and so allow the legs to swing freely back and forth and collapse from under the shelf part if moved just a little. This means the computer is at risk of falling off if the whole stand is moved. I do wish the hinges were tight - the seller suggests that the next one I get may be..so maybe it is just this one...anyone else who has found the hinges tight and the legs standing solid, please do review and let the community know...

Stylish but the rubber guard unstuck after a week. Easy to fix with a bit of adhesive - shame as otherwise this is a great laptop stand!!

Sturdy, simple and lightweight; effective design. My laptop is much bigger than the stand, however, this makes no difference to the sturdiness of the stand.
