Q: is the item waterproof?

This item is definitely water-resistant, I have had it on an outside faucet for two years without an issue. However, I do not believe that it is waterproof if you are asking if it would function submerged in liquid.

Put it on automatic and the program will run

Q: I've put new batteries in, but cannot set the clock. it only flashes, but won't change. what am i doing wrong? thnx.

Very simple to set up. If flashing, I would try new batteries, otherwise its a defective unit.
