The Radiological filter removes the four basic zones of contamination: Aesthetic (Chlorine, taste and odor), Chemicals (from Industry and Agriculture), Dissolved Solids (heavy metals such as lead, mercury, Chromium 6) and up to 99.99% of Radiological Contaminants such as Gross Beta, Radon 222, Alpha Radium 226, Plutonium, Uranium, Cesium 134 and 137 and radioactive iodine I-131. It also removes up to 90% of fluoride. Removes up to 99.99% of toxic chemicals, contaminants, and pollutants found in fresh water supplies including, but not limited to: Aesthetic - unpleasant taste and odors, cloudiness, silt, sediment, chlorine and chlorine by-products. Chemicals including Chlorine, Chloroforms, Radon 222, DDT, industrial VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), Trihalomethanes, PCBs, PCEs, Agricultural SOCs (Synthetic Organic Compounds), detergents, pesticides and up to 90% of fluoride. Dissolved Solids and Heavy Metals including dirt, Arsenic, Asbestos, Lead, Mercury, Copper, Zinc, Aluminum, trihalomethanes, PCB, PCE, Chromium 6. NELAC tested and approved for up to 100% removal of the following radioisotopes: Gross Beta Particles Radon 222 Plutonium Uranium Cesium 137 Cesium 134 Radium 226 (Alpha) Radioactive Iodine I-131. This bottle is meant for emergency use only. The bottle is meant to be slightly squeezed while sucking on the straw. The more contaminants a filter removes, in this case it removes certain radiation along with 90+ contaminants), the denser the filter - so this is why you have to squeeze the bottle as well - to help force the water up through the filter and out the straw.
