Everyday utility product
My children were very happy with it, it holds the food well and is easy to open, very compact you can put it In backpacks of all kinds.

Could have been better
I don’t know if it is only this product that was defective but I was looking forward into using this lunchbox due to its leak-proof quality. However, when I received it, the lid does not seal tight to the stainless steel lunch tray. There is a noticeable gap that could potentially cause a leak when food especially one with creamy consistency is placed. I am hoping to get a replacement but there is no option to contact the seller as it redirects me to yumbox page which says “page not found”. As such, I am returning it for a full refund. See photos attached.

Too big for your kid's lunch bag
I love Yumbox for my kids lunches. My kids love them. I needed an extra one now that my youngest started school, so I ordered this for my oldest who is still in elementary school.It's heavy and too big to fit in her lunch bag. The underside of this Yumbox is molded stainless steel so it feels like it's bulkier than it needs to be.I also don't understand why the round section is so shallow.For the price, I was disappointed that I can't use it for what I intended.This is best for tweens and older, anyone who isn't using a traditional lunch bag like the younger kids use.

Heavier than plastic (obviously)
Sturdy and easy for my son to open. I appreciate that his food isn’t surrounded by plastic on all sides, and theres less plastic used in this box overall. But it’s a bit heavy and wish it could go in the wash!

Returned to get the original
I'm a big fan of yumbox. I've had three original yumboxes for years! The handle on one broke after years of use, so decided to get three new ones for the kids. My oldest decided to get the stainless one because it was bigger and she is older and it's less kid looking... It's really nice, but all three lunches I made are the same, and I had to use a container in the stainless one to keep the cucumbers from touching the sandwich. My biggest complaint is the very shallow circle spot .... it's such a waste of space, it really should be deep like the rest of the box, could have been a perfect spot for yogurt or applesauce. So on the stainless one, you have one less separated space and one very shallow space. We returned this one and I'm replacing with another original yumbox . It doesn't make sense to me to have that wasted space and lose a compartment and it's larger and we still fit the same amount of food in the original and the stainless one.
