Everyone needs one
Everyone who has a garbage disposal needs one of these, it's so useful. I was also super happy when I opened the package to see directions that were well written and that it was made in the USA.Unlike stupid tricks involving ice cubes to "clean" your disposal, this ACTUALLY cleans the whole thing and does so without wearing down the blades like every other hack I've seen. It's sturdy and well made. I'm tossing it in the dishwasher to clean it b/c it's super nasty after just one use.One tip - I expecting removing it from the disposal to be a little messy, but the first attempt was BAD. I tried a few more times and found that slowly rotating while slowly pulling it out prevented back splatter.

Why did I not know about this before?
This brush is genius and so worth it. I’ve tried the foaming packets in my disposal, but they only make things smell nice for a little while. I squirted a little Cascade around the top of the rubber, and pushed the brush down into the disposal while running a slight stream of hot water. My goodness, the amount of black gunk that came flying back at me each time I pulled the brush up. Now the disposal is clean and no longer smelly. I’ll continue to do this weekly for maintenance.

You'll be disgusted--but glad you used this!
Why buy silly tablets to "clean" your disposal when you can REALLY clean your disposal? It's like a toothbrush for the blades of your disposal.Trust me, the first time you use it, you'll be disgusted at the gunk that it churns up...but, then the brush is easy to clean and it gets better (more clean) down there every time you use it.The brush is super easy to clean and can even go into the top rack of your dishwasher (although I rinse it first...just because it's YUCKY when it comes out of the disposal). If you like to keep your disposal clean this is an essential tool!

Great kitchen helper - does the job well.
Don't know how I lived so long without this great brush. Before I ordered it, I had reached into my garbage disposer to retrieve a peach pit, as I withdrew my hand I could feel the slime on the underside of the disposal's rubber, sound baffle. I tried to clean it with a sponge but could not get the proper angle to clean it completely, what little I could reach, left the sponge black with mold. I could not believe how gross the underside of this gasket was. With this brush I can now clean the underside of that gasket completely, as well as the inside of my garbage disposer. I am now a true believer as my garbage disposer has not been this clean since it was brand new.Oh- and I want to thank those who recommended covering the opening of the disposal with a paper towel of dish towel, as the brush does and will throw gunk everywhere as it is retrieved from within that grime filled disposer unit. Thanks again. :)

This is amazing
I never knew this type of product existed but I’m so glad I found it! I should have read the reviews first because I didn’t think about all the nasty slime that would come flying out when I removed the brush. Do yourself a favor and read the reviews for explanation.

Prep Your Disposal First
Works great, but works better with a some prep of the disposal. Start a little stream of water running into the sink, then begin squeezing a bottle of Dawn (or equivalent) into the sink and turn the disposal on. As the disposal stirs up the detergent and water, it will start foaming and this will help breakdown the grease and slime in the disposal. Let it run for 10 to 20 seconds or so and then turn the disposal off. Wait a minute or two and use this brush to break loose the rest of the gunk. This system is basically the same thing the "official" disposal cleaning packets, but it's cheaper and you don't have buy anything extra (as long as you have some dish soap around).

Smell all gone!
I tried everything to remove the nasty smell from my garbage disposal--lemon, ice cubes, baking soda, vinegar, etc., and nothing worked. It was a truly disgusting smell. So I decided to check Amazon for any suggestions, and came up with this brush. As soon as it arrived I poured on some dish soap and commenced to scrub. The amount of nasty black gunk was horrifying, and the more I cleaned the more there was. Disgusting! Finally the brush came up clean, I ran a sink full of hot water and added bleach, ran the disposal and no more nasty smell. People, you would not believe the amount of gunk under the flange in the drain. Trust me--get this brush!!
