This book should honestly be required to read and studied at school. It's a gripping book that shows the horrors of authoritarianism and acts as a warning of a dark future we could see if we forget the value of freedom. 1984 is heartbreaking, terrifying, hopeless, and brilliant.This copy also has some of George Orwell's essays, which help flesh out Orwell's worldview more directly. I particularly recommend "England your England" as it is one of the most accurate and beautifully written essays on England as a distinct culture.

Ho comprato parecchi libri di questo editore e di questa collana, li trovo perfetti: testo completo ad un prezzo irrisorioSono buone edizioni, scritte con un carattere leggibile e non microscopico, accompagnate da un'introduzione e spesso annotate, sono in brossura ma per quello che costano è anche troppo che abbiano una copertina!Purtroppo questo libro mi è arrivato danneggiato, ha una pagina strappata (come da foto), ci tengo a dire che è l'unico fino ad ora di tutti quelli che ho comprato a non essere perfettamente integro, e ho il forte dubbio che sia stato danneggiato nell'impacchettarlo
