A must read for history buffs!
Few writers can write history as Well as Stefan Zweig did. This is the story of the unfortunate Queen of Scots told with great respect to facts and well researched but reads like a novel you just can,t put down. His descriptions of both Mary Stuart and her cousin Elizabeth, Queen of England are spot on. You feel like you really know them by the time the story comes to its sad ending. You also learn alot about both Scotland and England,s curious history which maybe has come down to this very day. (To Brexit or not to Brexit) I would also recommend to your readers Zweig,s biography of Marie Antoinette. Rivetting!

Mary Queen of Scots
Without doubt the most informative account of Mary's life, with warts and all and no sentimental overwash. An excellent read.
