This jacket is amazing. It’s warm down. Unlike the puffy type that can rip or get holes burnt in it from campfires this jacket is rugged and a step up from the a Skogso line with leather sleeve and hood reinforcements as well as the down which keeps you cooler or warmer.

I am 5'8-5'9 x 155-160lbs x 40" chest. A little more barrel chested than wide. 32" waist. 33" sleeve.This M fits me better than any coat I have ever owned. I do not like longer coats very much because I sit on them and I like to get into my pants pockets. So I prefer nothing longer than 31". Because I am on the shorter side but with a 40" chest this M fits me perfectly. There is room for a fleece or wool sweater. Any more room would make the coat bulky and take away from the style appeal. This coat appears to be the same measurements as my M Filson Mackinaw Cruiser.This Fjallraven coat looks and feels high quality. I was not sure about the leather trim but I think it looks better in person. It looks like it serves a purpose more than simple decoration. In general this jacket has a real nice blend of sporty utilitarian and luxury appearance. The badge on the arm is OK. But, I would like a black out version of this coat very much. And maybe with the gold interior rather than the grey. Another thing that make this coat look great is the chest pockets and lack of pouch pockets (although I miss pouch pockets and find the chest pockets not easy to get into). So far I love this coat. I want to get outside just to wear it.The jacket is nice and warm, the hood too. A detachable hood is always nice but the hood this jacket fits really well and does not bunch up on the shoulders. The jacket could be warmer but it could also cost twice as much. With the proper layers that do fit, this jacket would probably be fine with 20 mph wind at below zero F. On the other hand, making this jacket bulkier would take away from its great semi-fitted look. And, of course, its nice to be able to throw it on over a t-shirt to run errands when its 40s and not be too hot. That is when a detachable hood could be useful. This coat breaths well in my opinion. If I sit around in a warm room in the Jacket I get hot in maybe 15 minutes. But its not like my body is getting hot so much as its really warm in this jacket. (If you know what I mean).Pros: EverythingCons: No detachable hood. Lint and hair can stick to the material easily. No pouch pockets.Now I got mine here on sale for $400. I see that it is back to $500. I'm not surprised. At 4 there is no better choice. At 5 there begins to be competition. But you may still choose this jacket. This was my second choice jacket but my first choice is $800 and I don't want to pay that much. I would not trade this Fjallraven, however. I just have to get the other one next year and have two great jackets.

Worth every penny and more

Holy moly. This thing is so incredibly well made. It gives the feeling of a garment that will last a lifetime. It's incredibly stylish and warm... love it! Not sure how its so cheap on amazon this thing is $500 from the manufacturer. I can't recommend this jacket enough.

Shoulder seam is already ripping. It was used for about a month, as a daily jacket to and from work. It should not already be ripping at the seam.

Overall great jacket but picture was misleading

Have been looking at these for quite a while and while prepping for cold months pulled the trigger. Haven't tried it in the cold yet but it is really stylish, feels great quality and I think I'm gonna be really happy when it cools down. It's really hard to describe the sizing, but I vary between mediums and large and went with medium thinking it would be a roomy cut for layering. Medium was the right size for me (5'11, 40-42 "chest) but it is fairly fitted rather than a boxy fit so just keep that in mind if you want to put really thick layers on under
