Yes!!!

Exactly what I needed! Needed to add a second screen to my 2013 imac after my second display went out. This solved the problem to add a secondary non apple screen. Perfect!

Works (Mostly) as intended out of the box

I bought this to upgrade my old Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter that couldn't do HDMI 2.0 related features, i.e. 4k 60 Hz to 1080p 240 Hz. I have a Surface Pro 2017 model that I have been using as an HTPC for as long as that's been out, but I upgraded to an LG OLED with 4k 120 Hz and HDR capabilities a couple years ago, and I decided it's finally time to allow my Surface to at least get as close to that as possible. This adapter was able to let it output 4k60, 1440p120, and 1080p120 no problem on my LG TV. It also finally let me use the Full RGB range instead of Limited, though, that's just something that has to match the TV's settings, so that's not a big deal, but I did have to go into the settings to set my Black output from Low back to Auto/High to make sure the colors weren't getting oversaturated / dark areas being crushed. The current setting I'm planning to use with it most of the time is 1440p120. For me, I wanted the 120 Hz as a priority, as I've been living with 120 Hz and 144 Hz displays for my PC and phone for years now. Also, I watch a lot of 24 fps content on my Surface, so I am glad to finally remove telecenic judder by being at 120 Hz. Unlike a native Smart TV app, like Netflix, Disney+, etc., which can signal the TV to just output 24 Hz natively, a PC will always output at 120 Hz or 60 Hz, so this was important to me as I import a lot of foreign Blu Rays, but would still want to watch them on my TV, so no app exists for that. The one thing that would have been a cherry on top would be HDR support, but since the Surface Pro 2017 doesn't seem to support HDR anyway, that point is neither a pro nor a con.Regarding the value of the product, I have an old mATX PC case that's empty in my closet right now that I was originally debating on just building a cheap HDMI 2.1 compatible HTPC (either a lower end Radeon 6000 card or an RTX 3050 or 3060) so I could get 4k120 with HDR, but in the end, I decided to save (A LOT) of money by just upgrading the adapter for my Surface for now. Another option would have been to buy a new Surface or laptop to keep the portability aspect while also having HDMI 2.1 compatibility, but that would even be more money than building the new PC, so that was something I didn't want to do at the moment. Don't get me wrong, I love tech, and I love building PCs, but I'm also getting older to the point where it's like if I don't NEED to upgrade that badly, then I don't want to upgrade, so this is a good stopgap solution for me.One issue I had, and which is why I docked a star, is that my audio seems to have a weird delay when starting a video, local or streamed, but don't know if that's something that's persistent yet, or if I'm just having issues with the audio setting. My TV is connected to a soundbar through its eARC port, and it worked pretty well with my old MiniDP to HDMI adapter. The sound seems to be off for the first few seconds of every video, but at least after a few minutes of testing, it seems stable afterwards. I don't know if the audio format is different compared to my old MiniDP to HDMI adapter, but my guess is that it takes a little bit of syncing with the TV/soundbar before they say, "Ok, I know how to decode this. Go." Again, this is my initial experience with the first day, so hopefully it's not too distracting of an issue in the long term. With these issues, and just the Surface Pro 2017 being 5 years old at this point and not supporting the latest display output features itself, I think the lifespan of my setup is reaching its end. I'd probably have to drop the money for a new PC sooner rather than later, whether I build a living room PC or just go with a lightweight laptop like my Surface, and it limits the length of time I'll be using this adapter. Overall, at least this first day, I think I'm satisfied mostly. Again, I'm a bit sad I sacrificed HDR, and I hope I don't have long term audio issues, but for a fraction of the price of just getting a new PC/Surface/Laptop, I think the value proposition is just worth it for me right now.
